Which Walmart?
466... will be nice to have everything renewed, but.... just like when Publix "remodels"...LOL... I can't find anything ! Went to WM this weekend, needed some small office items, paper, etc. Most things are in different areas of the store than previously. Guess it will be a good exercise for senior brains...memorizing the news locations...LOL !

I haven't seen any benefit to their changes. Now, I have to spend more time looking for items that I used to be able to find automatically when shopping. Originally, I thought they were going to make the aisles wider, but it doesn't appear to be so.

Your not supposed to know where things are,, the more time you spend walking around the more likely you will see something and make an impulse buy

it was redesigned to make it harder on shoplifters, cameras all over the place with AI intelligence.
They want to know everything for marketing and track every person.
IMHO its none of there business in my shopping habits!!!!!

Other than shoplifting, if they want to know your shopping habits all they need to do is look at the receipts.
As for shoplifting, it wouldn't bother me if they caught the shoplifter, took him/her/it into the back and made them disappear. We would all be better off. :pepper2::spoken:

Stopped there yesterday. It was frustrating while "in progress": stuff that we buy often had all of a sudden disappeared and moved to an entirely different part of the store, and store personnel often as not didn't know where the stuff had moved to. But I have to admit: the new arrangement makes a bit more sense. Plus that particular store is head and shoulders above the WallyWorld on 441, which is faint praise, I know...
Now, if only they'd stop putting displays in the busiest intersections and stop trying to stuff "family-size" bags of chips onto a shelf only 10" high...

Yes ! Thinking about it now, my times these past two weeks in the store have been at least double, and, YES, I did pick up many additional items while searching for WHERE they have RE-located the items I initially went for ! ! LOL !

The only thing I noticed that was different is the check out area. They added a ton of self check out stations and a lot more lanes for checkers. The only problem is that they don't staff but 4 of the checker lanes. Plus they shortened the belts so you can only put about a small amount of items on the belt from your cart so the checker has bagged a lot of your items while you you are still taking things out of the cart. And since you are still taking items out of your cart there isn't any place for the checker to put the bagged items. Why have all the stations if they aren't going to staff them? Sure looks inefficient to me.

They do this so we will do the job of the checkers at no cost to the store

Or Amazon which delivers sometimes the same day.
Be careful as Amazon Prime Members are sometimes charged for same-day delivery.

Our Walmart went through the “change” a little while ago. During the transition it was chaotic. Once done you could look up items online and get the isle number. That way you can prepare your list at home and save time.

I use Walmart app while in the store. Do a search for an item and it shows aisle number location for the item

More self checkouts, but if they don’t have staff they have to shut multiple ones down

There IS a cost to the store..............the machines are not free.
As minimum wages go up, automation will increase...........too bad this was not predicted
Oh wait, it was.

Next time I go to Walmart I’m going to go to the employee lounge and have a free snack. If anyone questions me I’ll tell them I am an employee because I’m required to work at the checkout.

I've been going to the Leesburg store, but the lines at the two staffed checkouts have gotten ridiculous. Went back to Wedgewood last week and was pleasantly surprised, especially with the no lines at the staffed checkouts.
