My neighbor believes our roof was replaced in 2014 due to defective shingles. House was built in 2008 on Nash Loop in the Village of Hemmingway. Does anyone know how I could confirm that

Try calling Home Warranty.

I would think the roofer pulled a permit with Sumter County. Maybe you can look it up using your property tax account, Ours was replaced at that time. It was up to the owner to contact a roofer for an inspection, who would then deal with Owens Corning if the roofer thought the shingles were defective. Many on our street did so, but not all. The owner across the street decided not to bother with it.

I lived in the villas off of Nash Loop back at that time, and I seem to recall something about defective shingles but I can't remember any specifics. As noted, home warranty could give you solid info.

Call the building department ( very helpful) if there’s no record of a building permit it didn’t happen.
