I'm a regular client of C&C. I think it's more like an if you can't beat em, join em situation. It's a fairly "old school" run company. C&C was great with pricing and service, but they did have limitations that could seemingly be overcome with pouring money into their current operations and spending on technology. Visiting their location, they certainly didn't look like they were rolling in money like when you visit a Villages Carts location.

When our cart's warranty ended, we use Todd Casey for service. I found him on this forum. Great service and reasonable too. They do the service at you home. Neat and clean.

Nothing wrong with TV Golf Carts. It's more convenient, they give you a loaner and they are upfront with their pricing.
Ask for David Becker at Lake Sumter you can’t miss him he is about 7 feet tall. Great guy who will not give you the hard sell on stuff you don't need.

Better ? is whether new owners are going to continue the same business at their location? If so, bet there will not be any changes. Personally did not buy from them. They were +/- $1000 more than Country Village in Webster.

Are they going to stay open ? Will I now by considered a customer of The Villages Cars ? Are they honoring all 5 years of my warranty ? Does this extend The Villages Car Yamaha territory another 30 miles ? Questions abound.

The reason for the sale is that the owner, Ted, decided it was time to enjoy life so he offered to sale it to his kids; that’s where the issue started and the kids couldn’t come to an agreement as to whose role would be what so Ted sold it to The Villages. We had bought three from C&C due to the big pricing difference (TV being higher) with more options on the C&C carts and we had many referrals there.

I saw the invoice from Yamaha and unless you want to go to Georgia their prices are competitive for this area.
Additionally you’re treated like royalty, have an extended warranty, free tow, priority service, loaner and mostly importantly a piece a mind because I know they’re not closing up shop anytime soon like Ocala.
I don't mind paying a little extra for the exceptionally great customer service.
It was the greatest experience ever buying something at this price range.

I thought Ted might be wanting to retire, but the kids have always been involved so never thought about the closing, or selling out to the villages ! They were so easy to deal with and the prices, compared to the villages places using the exact options, etc. were so much lower, and their service for owners here in the V's was truly exceptional. Well, guess this will lead to a new thread with people sharing new options they find ? The inflated prices in this "captive" audience continues I guess.

Of course they were just interested in a profit, why else would they have gone into business, to lose money? Why would they consider providing “Villagers with an alternative”? Why of course, to make a profit, if not that then they might as well have just stood out side the door of the Villages Golf Cart stores and handed out hundred dollar bills.
Whatever their motive was for selling, it is entirely the previous owner’s business. Yes the alternative will be missed, it was a great place and had many benefits if you overlooked the remote location. But it now leaves a void that someone else may be inclined to fill, to make a profit, or not.

The biggest issue here is that The Villages Golf Cars have extended their monopoly in the area. They won't sell parts to a consumer unless they purchased the cart directly from them. So for those of us that are riding around in carts we bought used here in The Villages, we're screwed!
I at least used to be able to go to Carts N Clubs to get parts - they're almost non-existent online. This new policy of not selling parts has made me even more determined to never purchase from The Villages Golf Cars. I'll order from Webster for my next cart.

Not if Carts and Clubs has an exclusive territory with Yamaha to sell new Yamaha Carts, like The Villages Cars has. Maybe the place in Webster will up its game.

The villagers golf carts are good if you don’t mind OVERPAYING.
Not even that good. I had trouble with my cart and went in for one of their tuneup packages (the middle one). Told them about the problem, they said it was a belt and one day it'd just snap and it would stop working. They wanted $120 to replace the belt.
After around 7 months of this symptom getting worse and worse, one day I was no longer able to accelerate, and pushed it into the parking lot at the postal station. I called them - they could see me in around 2 months, and I'd have to arrange to get it to their shop on the morning of the appointment. This cart was bought there, by a different owner who then sold it to me. So since I'm not the person who bought it from them, they refused to help me sooner or offer a tow.
I called a few other services, most of them didn't get back to me while I was standing in the parking lot waiting to find out if I needed to wait further, or walk home.
Finally got in touch with a guy named Dave who runs a golf cart repair business up 441 a bit (near Stonecrest). He came by a week later, and replaced a voltage regulator. He said whoever worked on it last, should have noticed that it was cracked and in need of replacement. I told him the Villages Golf Carts were the people who worked on it last. He said he wasn't surprised, he gets a LOT of customers who had work done at TV Golf Carts and end up calling him to repair or replace broken bits.

We have done business with C&C for almost 20 years.I guess this means no more at home service and having to make annual service appointments two months in advance. and if you have an unforseen problem to go stand in the service line and hope they will fix your cart because you did not buy it there and god forbid you should breakdonwn on the road.

Well with Ted out of business, you can count on one thing, those high prices at The Villages places will increase. Why not, one more exceptional (in price for both carts as well as parts and service) competitor... gone !

Agree. Leaves quite a void in the greater Ocala area; an area with a huge golfing population at both public and private clubs, retirement communities, etc. I would think someone would be interested in such an area, unless they think ALL of those folks will run down here to one of the Villages stores ?

And they are continuing to fill that void...
No one has said (especially the people running the show) that they are closing that location...
In fact, they said the exact opposite. That they will continue operation as they have been doing for years...

The other 2 semi-local dealers which I wouldn't call Ocala semi-local to Fenney.
They don't sell new Yamaha!
Ocala sells electric carts and the place on 466 sells used reconditioned Yamaha.
So how are you comparing these 2 places to The Villages carts?
You’re spreading misinformation about TV carts charging thousands more.
Prove it, don’t just post it without any sources.
Yamaha golf carts are no different than cars you can see what the dealer is paying.
Not all carts and dealers are equal sometimes you get what you pay for.

I called to set up my normal service on my 2 carts (no need for a loaner - and no need to drive anywhere, they come do it in your driveway, way better than the Villages Golf Carts). After setting up the service I asked her about this. She said that yes they were bought out by another private firm however, she was very emphatic it had ZERO affiliation with the Villages Golf Carts and that they were a competitor. She said at this point nothing would change. Unfortunately for them, pretty sure our next cart will be lithium, and really like the Evolution carts sold by another dealer in Ocala. WAY cheaper than the star carts sold by TV for sure. C&C is great for Yamaha, but don't really carry a Lithium.

Carts and Clubs and Country Village Power Equipment are what I call the only semi-local competition for new Yamaha carts in the area. When I bought my new Yamaha cart in 2020 The Villages Cars was $2000 more than the other two. I went with Carts and Clubs. There are many posts on social media that back that up. In fact The Villages Cars themselves will tell you they're worth the extra money. As to the statement that Yamaha prices are public knowledge which is true, but that is the base price. Carts and Clubs and the Village Cars, both buy shells and do their own customizing and accessories which gives them the freedom to charge all the extra $$. As for you get what you pay for, I guess you missed all the recent complaints about service at the Brownwood store.
Your other posts make it seem like you work for the Village Cars or is the tall guy your son in law?
