Concrete floor in lanai

I received an estimate the other day for having the floor in our lanai refinished with a stamped concrete overlay from Florida Deck in Leesburg. I would like to hear pros and cons from anyone else who may have used them regarding service and price. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but I'd like to know, also, if anyone has any experience with stamped concrete overlay (more than 2 years old) and Florida Deck, in particular. We can't make up our minds between ceramic tile, stamped concrete, or acrylic texture. Any opinions on the most functional covering for a lanai that is partly covered and partly exposed under a birdcage?

Call T&D, tell them you want "pool deck" on your lanai, sit back and relax. They did ours 2 years ago and all is well.

We are in the same boat and can't make a decision on whether we want tile, stone or whatever. People seem to like the 'stamped concrete,' but we've ruled it out.

Let me put a word in for tile. We have ours tiled and love it! No dust etc and so easy to clean!
We used the same tile we did our whole inside with. It really makes the villa flow.

Noticed that a house along the Tarpon Boil golf course was having a larger lanai built and they had tile put down on the floor. Really looks nice.
One of our neighbors had river rock installed on their lanai and they love it.

Thanks for the input so far. It would be nice if the flooring "flows out" from the interior of the house and we really like tile for that reason. It would also cover up the expansion joints and the concrete cuts left when the original lanai was removed. Army Guy, have you found the tile slippery at all when wet? That is the major concern, aside from the high cost since we have almost 800 sq. ft. to cover.

We used Aristocrete from Leesburg and were generally pleased with the product which is a sprayed concrete base over the original concrete. They then place a template down and spray another coat. We have had one small area that gradually flaked off (after a year) Aristocrete then wanted $100 to fix their flaw.
My reason for passing this on is to make sure you eiter get a contractor's agreement to fix or some repair kit. Note the flaw was the size of a dime.

Tile on a lanai can be very very slippery when wet. I know from personal experience, spent over a year out of commision because of wet tile. If you go with that ask to have sand mixed in, it gives a little texture to it.

We want to do tile on ours, but I am hesitating because a contractor (yes, he did concrete overlay) told us that tile tended to mold and mildew. I think he was just trying to get us to use his services, but wanted the opinion of the villigers.

We visited some friends in south FL last week and the tile on their lanai has been in place for years (they moved there in 2004)...the tile was probably installed long before that. Didn't notice any mold or mildew. It cleans easily with mop and water, but my friend did say it was very slippery when wet.
