My husband and I attended the 4pm ABBA Tribute show May 10th at Savannah Center. The tickets cost $47 each. We were extremely disappointed that the show only lasted one hour and 5 minutes. Total ripoff. Will never attend their show again. I have contacted The Villages Entertainment with our complaint but not heard back.

Did you know one of the interrogation methods used by the CIA is to lock the detainee in a room and play Dancing Queen 24 hours a day.

Now that is real torture.

We were there and agree with you, it was a short show.
They were talented but didn't sing Super Trooper, I Do I Do, and Does Your Mother know, plus a few others.

We went to the ABBA tribute show at the Orange Blossom Opry a month ago and it was excellent. The OB house band opened for 45 minutes then the ABBA show for about 95 minutes. Great entertainment there.

We went to The Savannah Center about a year ago for a concert. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable- If I remember correctly they were hard, folding chairs. I have a bad back- not some major problem- just a run of the mill bad back and I spent more time thinking about my back than I did the concert. With the amount of revenue generated by that facility I think they should investigate more comfortable chairs.

Maybe they did not know they should come back after intermission?

Yes, I was surprised the show was a bit shorter than expected, but I would easily see this show again - they were awesome - and Abba has a HUGE discography of songs, so I knew going in I wasn’t going to hear everything I’m familiar with. Was pleasantly surprised they performed two of my favorites that were big European hits, but not so much stateside (Summer Night City and Lay All Your Love On Me).

We liked "Does Your Mother Know" when we heard it on the radio back in the day. Have never heard it since. Would've liked to see the show.

On another concert subject, I hear the Spazmatics played here in Brownwood and I just missed them. Hoping to see them when they come back. The shows they put on in Vegas were very entertaining and funny. Are they jokesters here too? When I invited visitors to see them in Vegas they really enjoyed the shows and said they would come back with other friends. I understand that they're a franchise though so different guys.

Now back to ABBA.

We attended the ABBA show at the Savannah Center last week, and thought it was Excellent. In fact, they received 2 standing ovations. They did sing “Does your Mother know”. They did not take any breaks. There was no intermission; just a high quality, high energy, delightful performance. I would definitely go again.

We also attended and had a great time. They got the crowd involved singing and dancing, and the performers were extremely talented. We will go back again next year.

The Spazmatics are a franchise, so the band you saw in Vegas is not the band you see here. But they play the same music and have the same jokes I believe.

They sang Super Trouper and Does Your Mother Know.
It was a little weak, but never the less it was sung

And that is why i am leary about going to a comcert here. I go to hear the performers…not to hear someone singing behind me.

It's like the musicians thought old folks fell asleep after an hour.

So true. About 6 months ago we went to a Beatles tribute show at Savannah. Just before it started, a single lady sat down next to me, happily said “I hope you don’t mind if I sing along would you”? I replied “actually I would, we paid to hear THEM perform”. I think she was shocked and kept pretty quiet. After the intermission she was in another seat/ area.

I, too, was a bit surprised they only went 70-75mins? But, I also know they did back-to-back performances, so that would've been a bit taxing? So, I'll give them a break. They probably thought the old folks in the audience couldn't last that long, anyway?

The 7pm show was great and ran 85 minutes.

Agree. We always sit in the mezzanine where the seats are comfortable, not folding chairs.
