After 60 days on the market we got an offer on our VT home! We countered and are waiting for a reply. We need some good vibes from all of you to help this go through.

Good luck!!! Beware, I had a new thread deleted this morning that mentioned something along the lines of what you just said. And I could not find a reason in the rules why....perhaps a Mod thought I was not being honest. If anyone can quote me the rule from any of the TOTV rule pages I would be grateful.

Thanks K-9, but the thread of mine that got deleted was simply to state I was putting my home on the market. I blogged about the missing thread out of frustration. 1984 sounds appropriate, or I am not familar with how "Reported Posts" are Modded. Nevertheless, I am envious of GeorgeT's imminent success. :censored:

twolfe and george - Hope the deals go through for both of you.
I have no idea why such a thread would have gotten yanked. That's a head-scratcher. Perhaps send a PM to one of the admins to ask them what was amiss. Perhaps it got deleted by accident.....??? I'd think it would at least be worth asking the question - and I'm sure you'll get a straight answer from them.

I am soooooooooooo jealous.
I'm hoping your deals go through and you can start living in paradise. :pepper2:
I would contact the admin's to find out if your post was deleted. If it was, I'm sure it was by accident.

Good luck, our house in North Carolina has been on the market for 369 days and our house in TV for 68 days. Things better happen soon we settle in The Village of St. James on Jan 11.

It appears to me that there was one major difference in George T's post and your post. George proudly announced in the general forum that his house in Vermont has been sold. Your announcement in the General Discussion was that your Villa in the Villages is now for sale and you asked people to PM you rather than having listed the details.
Our guess is that it's listed with an agent, so it probably falls outside of the rules of listing "for sale by owner." Listing it in the "General Discussion" was not the proper place.
Warning others that we will do something to their post is not appropriate. The only time we may consider that is when the rules are not followed.

I see, so there is no proper place to post such information in my situation. Mea culpa. I would suggest enhancing the clarity in the posted Rules, I would not have transgressed if it was clearer.

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It's done!!!!!! We're signing the papers tonight. Thanks for all of the well wishes....THEY WORKED!!!!
I'm very excited. The closing is on 1/10/11 so there's a lot to do.
WOW! It feels like a dream. We're picking up my 89 year old Mother in Staten Island on the way. I'm so happy that she agreed to live with us. I want to make the rest of her years as wonderful as possible and TV is the place for that.
Hmmmmm, I wonder if I can teach her to golf.
Thanks again and see you all soon!

In the real estate section, you will find this:
If you are selling it yourself inside The Villages, please select
our For Sale by Owner (Villages property only) section.
If your house is outside The Villages, post it in the
For Sale or Rent (Outside The Villages Only).
Both of these sections are marked free if your property is not being
advertised on a paid site or being handled by a professional for a fee.
If you choose to list on a paid site elsewhere on the internet, we can help
you with a paid listing through this following link. We allow pictures there,
too, and are happy to work with you on your ad. Following is a link to an
ad that has a picture. We can do many pictures.
If you have other questions, ask them here so everybody can see the
answers. If it is something I cannot answer, I will draw our advertising
genius in here. That would be Jan.
The links follow.

I have been trying to sell my home in Richmond, Virginia for 1-1/2 years so I can move to TV's. I am itching to get there. I changed realtors in September and actually had a contract in November but the engaged couple backed out. Any selling advice appreciated!

Lynn222...ours was on the market in NJ for almost 3 years! After changing realtors a few times, it finally sold. The market isn't good except for HERE in TV!!! My friend has a beautiful home in NJ and has been on the market for 5 years and has dropped her price over $300k!!!!!!
We decided to just come down and purchase property here before our desired village was built out...guess what? When we got home, we sold!!! So back we came and purchased a spec home because we didn't want to wait for a new one to be built. Got almost exactly what we had ordered. GOOD LUCK my friend... it will happen!

All the best wishes with selling your abode. 'Pricing' seems to be THE overriding factor in today's marketplace. But there's a buyer for everything - hopefully you'll find yours pronto!! :)

Saint Joseph is the one you should pray to. Did you ever hear about burying a St Joseph on your property? We did it and apparently it worked! Google Saint Joseph and you'll see how to do it.

Skip to My Sue.....BRICK is where we moved from!!!! Which side North or South? We were South. Seemed at the time. Northern end was moving so much quicker! Also.. I buried 3 Saint Joseph statues...so one of them was listening. I will say my prayers for you too! Good luck.
By the way... this morning it was only 1 degree colder in Brick than in TV!!!! We are heading back on Wed. to see the kids for Christmas. Have a nice holiday.
