The Villages Lifestyle Visits are an interesting way to familiarize yourself with The Villages and central Florida. Checking the internet, I see 4-to-7-day visits at $99 to $199/night depending upon time of year. Includes a golf cart and a 3-bedroom house and perhaps other benefits. As I recall, these visits do not have any requirement for any sales presentations.

Are any readers aware of similar offers from developers in other areas of the country. Not interested in offers requiring high pressure sales presentations.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

The Villages lifestyle visits include no presentation at all. I did one 14 months ago. Zero pressure from our main contact the whole visit. They seem to take the view that The Villages will sell itself, and it certainly did for me. Information was provided if/when requested, that's it.

The few places that I looked into previously from other developers, I'm still getting calls/emails weekly even after unsubscribing from their emails and telling them that I'm not interested multiple times.

We did a lifestyle visit many years ago, the sales rep was great took us to show various neighborhoods and types of homes available at the time. We tried to by several homes, but there were others that had already signed paperwork, ended up buying a lot and building, and in retrospect this was a great move. But there was NO high pressure sales tactics at the time.

I don't think the Developer needs to advertise on ToTV.

Why not ? It's free and not even owned by them.

All Lifestyle visits should include golf at the executive courses. Might change one's mind about the free-golf-for-life incentive for buying here.

Citrus Hills, no overnight stays.

By the way, Citrus Hills and OTOW, both claim to be Florida's Premier Retirement Community.

No to your question regarding ad for the developer. I am just wondering if there were similar no pressure deals in places like Arizona , California where you could get a lifestyle Visit and then use as a base for a tour the local area.

If anyone were interested in a vacation in Central Florida. The Villages could be a good base for exploring this area.

When we first visited TV (for about a week), we stayed with friends. While not an actual "Lifestyle Visit", the "free" golf (I had to pay $7 as a guest) was a major plus...

We did OTOW last summer, they did a “semi mandatory” tour of the area surrounding OTOW, as well as touring homes. Golf car was included, I’m still getting emails from them. We’ve done 2 lifestyle visits to TV, absolutely no pressure but were given the name of a VLS agent in case we wanted them to show us around. Also visited Ocala Preserve, once again it was a mandatory tour of their model homes with a “sit down” with their sales specialist, still get the occasional phone call/email from them.

Back around 2010 I spent a few days there. The houses were well constructed and the community beautiful. The problem for me is that there were no urban communities in which to shop, go to restaurants and so on nearby. They gave me a very nice duplex unit for two or three nights and ended up comping it as it was not quite ready when I arrived.

We did the Lifestyles package a few months before we decided that this was where we wanted to retire. NO high-pressure anything. We had questions so we went to the sales office and talked to someone. They suggested the trolley ride, which we did. I don't think they even took us on a tour of homes (the sales people). We 1/2 way thought we'd keep hearing from them after our stay but we never did. ALL of our contact was instigated by us!! The place sells itself.

We did a lifestyle visit 18 years ago. Picked you up in a limo. Had whatever little bottles of booze you pre selected. Dropped you off a sales center where you got certificates for free meals including cattlemen’s club which was above Katie bells, anything off the menu including g lobster. Free rounds of championship golf at Palmer. Villa we’re the ones behind the Sharon.

I’m wondering, where in Florida is this offer? I’ve heard of Top of the World, looks interesting! Thanks

Far from it. You can go to all other 55+ communities in the states and they are mostly alike, Del Webb, OTOW, Kolter, etc.. but none of them come close to what TV offers you. Sure, they are cheaper and much much smaller in people and in things to do

Trilogy in Ocala offers stay & play visits, use of golf cart & free play. Very nice but only 1 course. Homes were beautiful. Also tried Del Webb property in Myrtle Beach, golf cart included. No cart paths, must drive on street along with car traffic. Boo.

You choose whether or not to have a meeting with a sales rep. I’d recommend one as they will take you to the various nicely furnished models. High pressure? It won’t happen. The belief of the Developer is that the Villages sells itself.

Top of the World and Citrus Hills are just like a Dell Webb community.
Once the honeymoon is over and it will be fast, both will be very boring.

The infrastructure in The Villages for golf carts is like no other IN THE WORLD.

In 2011 we chose to do our own version of the Lifestyle Visit. We were able to rent a patio villa for the month of October for $900 using **** and it included a golf cart.
We did a one month rental again eight months later and this time we got a patio villa with golf cart for $950 using ****. That was June of 2012 and during that visit we purchased our first Villages home.
Lifestyles Visits back then we're $100/night. If you come in the off season you may wish to consider a rental on your own. Many rentals here sit empty except in the winter so you may find some off season bargains.

Any idea if Lifestyle visits are restricted to 55 and older?

LG homes and Del Webb offer life style visits. We tried them but when we got to The Villages there was so much more here in terms of activities and clubs the other places couldn't compare. We moved here in 2019 and for the 5 years before we retired we drove the State of Florida and went to a lot of 55+ communities including Top of the World and no one had a place that compared. The only thing that gave us pause is during snow bird season this place is jam packed. But we love the summer and take our vacations during the snow bird season.
