Modelo! Bud Light lost out to Modelo for title of America’s most popular beer in May: report | Fox News (https://www.foxnews.com/media/bud-light-lost-out-modelo-title-americas-most-popular-beer-may-report?fbclid=IwAR34ZTiBRZHx4qBA4VKvYT7YMVVwa-MMrD9Q3PA5mAqNVopGLcTxCM0vthc)

The irony:

"Grupo Modelo is a large brewery in Mexico that exports beer to most countries of the world. Its export brands include Corona, Modelo, and Pacífico.[2] Grupo Modelo also brews brands that are intended solely for the domestic Mexican market and has exclusive rights in Mexico for the import and distribution of beer produced by Anheuser-Busch.[2] Until the 1960s, Grupo Modelo used red poppy flowers in most of its advertising.

On June 12, 2008, The Wall Street Journal stated that Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owned a non-controlling 50% stake in the company, might attempt to acquire the remaining 50%.[3] On June 29, 2012, it was announced that Anheuser-Busch InBev would acquire the remaining 50% stake for an all-cash price of $20.1 billion.[4] On January 31, 2013, the US Department of Justice filed an antitrust suit in an attempt to prevent the buyout. The matter was settled and the two companies merged in June 2013,[5] with the transfer of all United States rights to Constellation Brands.[6] As a result, all of the company's brands are made (in Mexico) by an unrelated company. In the United States, Grupo Modelo brands are distributed by Constellation Brands."

I like Mexican beer too. My favorites are Carta Blanca and Corona. I usually drink the South American beer they have at Aldi. I don't like drinking out of twist top bottles, I like ones that need a church key because they are smooth on my lips.

That said, I had a Bud Light yesterday, for the first time, and thought it was quite good.

That may have been true back on January 31, 2023, the date of the article you cited, but no longer. BUD's marketing misstep severely damaged the Bud Light brand.

"In the more than seven weeks since consumers first revolted over Bud Light's apparent partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, some stores have been forced to give away the beer for free, with Bud Light even resorting to buying back unsold, expired beer from wholesalers, according to The Wall Street Journal. I generally just roll my eyes a the "pride" stuff. It seems like corporate pandering. And I really don't care how you express your love for other people. It's none of my business, just as it's none of your business about me and mine. Consenting adults, and all that.

Where this goes off the rails for me is the bizarre desire to pull children of all ages into it, especially the gender dysphoria/trans aspect. It's one thing to perhaps think you might be gay as a 14 year old, act out for bit, and then decide it's not for you. It is quite another to think you are the opposite sex, and start taking puberty blockers, hormones, and eventually undergo surgery. There is no turning back from that if you later decide it was just teen-age angst taken too far, and supported by the adults in your life and society at large.

No one should be allowed to undergo any transitioning until they are a legal adult. And you must continue to use the public bathroom of your birth gender, and you can't complete against women/men as a man/woman. The "rights" of a tiny minority should not trump everyone else.

And if you join the military and then decide to transition? Sorry. You joined as a man or woman, and that is what you will be until your service time is up. Then, you can do what you want.

Amen on all points. I may want to be something I'm not (I don't) but saying I am something different does not make it so. I feel for those who aren't happy with who/what they are but calling themselves something different changes nothing. The natural maturing process is problematic enough for our youth of today without the additional emotional burden and confusion created by this craziness.

Despite the company’s stock slide, Wall Street remains fairly bullish on Anheuser-Busch; the nearly three dozen analysts surveyed by FactSet have an average price target of about $67 for the stock, implying roughly 25% upside and projecting it to hit its pre-controversy level.

Don't believe in the freedom to have a different mindset than yours? 1,000s of people work for those companies, but they offended the snowflakes and now they want them to go out of business. What a country!

Bud sells many brands. Bud Light has lost many customers who won't succumb to Tranny Tyranny.

They’ve only lost the bigots. I was at Ski Beach just 2 days ago and nearly everyone at the bar was drinking bud lite including the red loving person I was with. Difference? They don’t watch Fox or perhaps they’re just good, happy people.

Well......Here's a Cut and paste from Forbes. Wall Street apparently think the Clydesdales will still be fed::crap2:
Despite the company’s stock slide, Wall Street remains fairly bullish on Anheuser-Busch; the nearly three dozen analysts surveyed by FactSet have an average price target of about $67 for the stock, implying roughly 25% upside and projecting it to hit its pre-controversy level.

Tell you what... Dump a bunch of $$$ into the stock and let me know how that works out for you...

FOX News! Everybody drink! (but not Bud Light...)

P.S. What do you call the people who tried (and failed) to boycott Chick-fil-A? Were they also "bigots"? Or is that term reserved only for people you don't agree with?

How about the NFL boycott? Huge flop!

Best not make a stand against pedophilia lest you be called a bigot. What an upside down world.

Agree. You can put all of the Ford parts on a Chevy you want. It doesn't make it a Ford.

Which time and for what reason?

If the boycott was in protest of Chick-fil-A's (CfA's) association with a particular group or refusal to denounce a particular group - basically if they wanted to boycott because the store refused to join them in their hate then yes, I would call them bigots as well.

Are you trying to portray the LGBTQ community as all pedophiles? If so, then I believe the saying starts, "if the shoe fits...."

Some do tend to read things that are not there. Perhaps that is something that needs to explored with someone schooled in the topic?
It is hard to defend against pedophilia, so it is understandable that those who are guilty of, or support such a thing, would want to pull in gay and lesbian into the mix to cloud the waters. The truth is, very few care if someone is hetero or homo. What people do care about is stopping the sickness where grown men and women feel the need to come out to six year old children, or discuss personal sexual topics with kids. There are actually people who are protesting Fl's law that teachers can not discuss their sexual orientation with little kids. Protect Children and Protect Real Women. While Florida is banning children from attending drag shows, states like California are pushing a bill to take children away from parents who refuse to get their five year old gender surgery or give them puberty blockers.

So that I do not again get accused of reading things that are not there, what in the world are you trying to say with your comments about pedophilia? Was it just a public service announcement or did it somehow relate to this thread?

Are you aware that there is no FL law that prohibits teachers from discussing their sexual orientation with kids of any age, at least according to the sponsors? But add me to your list of those opposed to the poorly-written, and poorly-considered Don't Say Gay laws.

No spin at all. You asked a question and I asked for clarification. If your clarification matches the criteria of a bigot then yes, they would be bigots. It is really that simple.

So the hate, prejudice, and discrimination in this and other threads is really directed at only one or a few trans individuals? I definitely missed *those* distinctions.

Yep, Bud Light for acknowledging a trans person in a non-negative way, Target for selling clothes with rainbows, and I don't recall the others with the gall to be accepting.

Forgive me for using my brain (some of ours still work) and seeing a connection.
