House fire follows reported electrical power problem in Waltham (https://www.wcvb.com/article/waltham-fire-electrial-problem-june-19-2023/44253989)

There are surges from the power company which can get past the pole protections, though rare, its part of fire prevention of the house. . .

Lightning arrestors are next, through a very low probability, not a zero probability. .
and prior to retirement, with 1/2 the income, will add to the total home protection.

finance guy (cheap one time insurance relative to the replacement cost of the house.)
note: not my company, but the other competitor

Good to know, helps me justify the monthly charge we pay SECO for the whole house surge protector in our meter.

Since we thought we would stay in this house we opted for the one time payment option.

We had it put in when they were doing the install one-time payment about 1.5 years ago. Good investment, IMO.
