Has anyone exchanged their original bathtub in the guest bathroom for a deeper one? If so, some idea of the expense and can it be done while maintaining most of the current tile?

You might look at a walk-in if you are going to go to the expense. My guess a welkin will be under 20,000.

If you have a decent size length tub, I would consider. Our old house had a tub we could both stretch out, deep enough to relax in, used once in 7 years. Pain to clean.

If you are thinking about a walk-in you may find some who wants them gone, when they buy a preowned. Otherwise walk-in start @ $18,000, but that was couple years ago. Company was removing a walk-in from previous owner, and offered a price to remove and reinstall. No idea cost, parents changed their mind

Standard bathtubs come in 14-inch and 16-inch depths. If you are just replacing a 14 with a 16, an installer should have no problem making the change with minimal disruption to the wall and floor tiles.

I'm not looking for a walk in..I already have one in the master bedroom. I'm looking for a deeper tub. Thank you for your suggestions tho!

During our custom build, the builder swapped out the wrong tub for the better one we ordered. It was a fiasco. Six tubs later... The tilework suffered the most. Still not right. If you decide to do it, pay for a contractor with good workmanship.
