Happy 89th Birthday, Corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger!!
Jamie Farr (born Jameel Joseph Farah; July 1, 1934) is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for playing the cross-dressing Corporal turned Sergeant Maxwell Q. Klinger in the CBS television sitcom M*A*S*H.
Farr has been married to Joy Ann Richards since 1963 and has two children, Jonas and Yvonne. He has a grandson named Dorian.

One of my all time favorite shows.

Mine too. My Dad was in a M.A.S.H. Unit attached to the Wolfhounds. He got to Korea but the war had gone to a cease-fire.

Klinger was great. As was the rest of the cast as well.

I can think of probably a dozen reasons, if not more, why it would never be allowed on the air today as a first-run program. But it was certainly great back in the day!

I don't know if I agree. Klinger never professed to be trans or a cross dresser. He was just trying to get discharged.

As for the treatment of women, Two and a Half Men was wildly popular a long time later.

But then, maybe nobody would attempt those two topics today in a humorous manner.

It was funny but after awhile thought it lost a lot of its humor
