Now that Groome has increased price to $40 per person and it takes 2 hours to get back and forth from airport, does anyone know of a better alternative? Especially when there’s more than one person? I guess I am looking for a ride that charges one price for up to 3 passengers that goes directly from Orlando airport to your door?

At $40, Groome for me is still “reasonable”, reliable and very convenient- I’m a fan!

$40 is reasonable. That is what Workman charges, with the ride one way being about 1.5 hours (only stops are in LSL and Brownwood), so it's a bit shorter than the length of the ride mentioned in the OP.

Other than that, there are private concerns that also provide transportation. I've used Joe Byers (Blue Line Services) for rides to and from. Very reliable, never (in my experience anyway) late. The charge 1-way is a bit higher than the van lines charge (I'm thinking $110 for the first person, with additional people being something like $25 more for the ride). Costs more: faster service.

Dave’s Airport Transportation has excellent cars/drivers and only has you (and your guests) in the car. It is $85 for the first person and $25 for each additional person. There is $10 surcharge if your plane comes in after 11 PM. Book early as he is pretty busy.

Dave's is absolutely the best but very busy so I agree book early.

Workman does not "pick up / drop off" at your door.

Yes, it does for a small extra charge..per trip, not per person.

Let me clarify - you can take a cab after Workman drops you off to your home for I think a $15 charge but that I am not sure of.

I always had good luck with Creative Concierge. It was $75 door to door for one person and $25 for a additional passenger.

I fly a lot.. always take groome .. I’m in the south and it’s not even 1 hour..was wondering how gromme could do it for only $33.for so long.
I had to use Village trans because groome was full.. Seeing village transport costs $40. And stops even at leesburg hospital once on tollway! And hotels sometimes.. yikes.. groome is getting new vans and gas ⛽️ is more $$
The price increase is reasonable to me..

It just doesn't get better than Workman. Two stops in Brownwood and LSL, so none of the hassle with Groome making stops in tons of villages. The problem with some of the smaller transports is if they have a vehicle issue, then you are stuck. Will there be someone waiting for you if your flight is delayed? With Workman there is another shuttle every hour up until midnight.

I know the OP said "pickup at door", but if thats the most important thing stick with who you have.

I think Dave’s now charges $100 for first person and $25 for each additional person. He is excellent and is always on time.

I prefer a private driver. Just over an hour nonstop. Life is too short.

I have only used Creative Concierge for family visits. Family of 4 is $10 less than Workman and it’s door to door and they provided the right car seats for an infant and toddler at no charge.

We used the villages VIP transportation..on time very friendly. And the price was reasonable I think about 100.00 door to door..using them again aug 3rd for the final move here.

Do they pick you up at your house and take you to the bus barn where you load with others or do you stay in the same van and go straight to the airport?

Creative Concierge is punctual and has the most interesting drivers if you want to chat en route.

You are correct , $125 for 2 people.

I just used them last week and have them booked again in August…..

I understand your frustration. $40 one way per person may be reasonable. It’s just frustrating for us to be paying more for ground transportation than we do for our flights. Especially when flying often. Last flight was $25 per person. We never pay more than the $40 for our flight. No charge for luggage cause we have none. But we choose the lifestyle so can’t complain.

There is an additional charge for home pickup. That vehicle takes you to one of two departure points (not a barn). Where the van leaves for the airport.

I agree; in our experience Capris has been reliable with friendly drivers that pick you up at your door and drop you at the departure level. No hassle and worth a few extra bucks.

Has anyone ever tried using a ride share like Uber or Lyft? Our son came in for a visit and used a ride share from MCO. He said it was very easy. One way was $125 and one way was $80. The cost varies by time of day and how busy they are and also the size of car you order. You can have at least 2 people in any size and up to 4 or 5 in bigger ones with no price increase for more than one passenger.

I also vote Groome then Workman as a close second. Both offer door to door service, at good prices. Definitely beats driving in, or being dropped-off by family. And if flying JetBlue, Terminal C pickup is easy to get to.
