Today when I opened my Utility E-Bill, it was not a .pdf file, it was a picture-.jpeg. When I called Customer (non) Service to inquiry how to get it as a .pdf, the nasty lady informed me that the change to the new company was over a year ago and that is how it's been "all along" and that I "need to live with it".
This is mainly a rant - but is it just me???

My last CSU bill had a pdf button at the top right of the bill. Can’t remember if it was save as pdf or print as pdf or just pdf but it was there.

This capability maybe a function of the software used to open the file, I do not recall seeing this capability on my W10 machine. I will need to pay more attention next time I open a jpeg.

Just open the .jpg file, chose print, and then select "Print to PDF". That option is available on Windows 11, maybe W10 (don't remember). If you have an older machine, you can install a free printer driver that will do the same thing.

A true PDF allows one to directly capture actual text and numbers.
A JPG, or printing a JPG as a PDF, is just pictures.
If you want that text without typing, here's a workaround. With an android phone, take a picture of the bill on the screen. Use bixby vision to do optical character recognition. Select text and copy it where you want it. If that happens to be on your PC; paste text into an email; save the draft on the phone; open draft on PC.

The E-bill that comes via email is not in the PDF format. But, if you open the bill directly from the districtgov.org website using the billing inquiry option, there is an option to "save as pdf" is the upper right corner. This option worked fine for me using Windows 11.

Maybe a better question is WHY do you need it in a pdf version rather than a jpg? If you are printing it, you can just request paper snail mail bills instead of electronic. The whole point of e-billing is to be able to save the file on your computer rather than waste the paper. You can save a jpg just like a pdf.

I prefer the pdf viewer and format. *If* they changed this the question is how do we get it changed back.

I am a board member on the NSCUDD board that was asked to approve the new billing firm and their software. Other utility and other boards were also asked to approve staffs recomendation to have this change made. Can a change be made to make it more like it was before this current change? If enough customers request a change it might be possable to make a change. You are always welcome to attend a board meeting to ask questions and or make suggestions. Please email me directly if you have detailed information about your call to customer service as money is being spent and people hired to improve our billing customer service department.
Thanks,
rick.rademacher@districtgov.org

Was there a change just this month? If not then I have no problem; the format I have received the past several months is fine.
I am one of the people who attends many of your meetings. Unfortunately, I missed the tier one reimbursement discussion in June.

The changes were made several months ago. And, thanks for attending our meetings.

I had the same glitch this month. Last week, on the CDD "Your Invoice" webpage, I clicked the "View Invoice" link as I have done every month. Instead of the usual PDF, I got a strange image format with all three pages in one image.
Today, I tried it again and got the usual PDF format. Either somebody did something ... or it was one of those unexplainable software glitches. [shrug]

As the OP, I just opened my bill again and voila...it was back to a .pdf. So the nasty customer service lady didn't even bother to look before answering. Oh well, I'm over it.

My first boss some 50 years ago used to quote me this:
"To change is to grow, to change often is to grow much"
so you're "growing"
Then again, his other famous quote was:
"Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana"

Wow…here’s someone who has listened and provides an action plan regarding your concern. How lovely to read this feedback. Customer service is an important part of any company and in the simplest sense you are paying for her salary and should expect a caring response to your question.

You called customer service because you didn't like the format which happened to possibly be a glitch with your software and you wanted an answer from someone sitting at a desk who sees the bill and doesn't see your glitch to explain your problem? I'm not questioning your demeanor but what did you expect her to do. If she was an IT person she wouldn't be working on customer service for minimum wage. We need to except problems, it's the age of computers changing faster than our old brain can handle

To be fair, the OP said the lady was "nasty" and who said it had been that way "all along" (not true) and that he/she needed to "live with it". A nice customer service person could have transferred the OP to an IT person who could have accurately answered the question.

This method also works perfectly fine to save your bill in pdf format using my ipad.

Respectfully, if you read all posts, it was not "possibly be a glitch with (my) software" , the problem was with their software. And the attitude was a problem.

Are you saying that rude behavior is acceptable if someone is working for minimum wage? Yes, technology is changing rapidly, but customer service is just that and should be handled politely. This has always been true!
