I purchase a home in The Villages 2 years ago and can't find anybody that will install new tile around my fiberglass pool.
They say ceramic tile will not adhere to fiberglass, yet the pool was built this way 20 years ago.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

I can see some logic in this as the typical thin set material is rigid, and fiberglass can move this would cause the bond to eventually breakdown. I am sure there is a suitable mastic material that is rated for outdoor use and will remain flexible. My stepson set tile for almost 20 years, I will ask him if he knows how to do this. NOTE: he cannot do the job as he signed a 'non compete' contract with where he works now.

Here is the technical support phone number for Mapei they should be able to help you with a suitable solution 1-800-992-6273, and customer support phone number 1-800-426-2734, and the website: MAPEI - adhesives, sealants, chemical products for building (https://www.mapei.com/us/en-us/home-page).

I have used their products on all on my tiling projects, and they are very good.
Hope this helps.

My stepson stopped by today, he agrees with my advice, and he could not provide any additional information as he had never applied tile to a fiberglass pool, he did concrete pools several times.

Do a search on troublefreepool.com. There are a number of threads of folks that have done this, or are asking about doing it.

I also have a friend here that just had tile installed on their fiberglass pool - I'll ask them who did it.
