Here again Goggle is our friend.

I tried 2 out of the 3 of these without any luck.
I like the one about pulling a sticker off the apple the best.

Thanks

Lick your finger and use that wet finger to open that bag

If the store has a dispenser of alcohol wipes, take one and knot it to your cart. Use that to wet your finger.

Don’t use them…have a reusable bag with you.

A few options:
1. Go over near the open produce wall where you'll find the lettuce. Something there will have some moisture on it. Touch that, and open the bag.
2. Pinch the opening of the bag between thumb and forefinger, and hold in place for a minute. Eventually the warmth between your fingers will create moisture, and the bag will open up.
3. Lick your finger - the least sanitary option, especially since you've been touching things since you entered the store (including the basket handle) and then putting your finger in your mouth. (we all did it when we were younger and survived - it really isn't a big deal but people are weird and get skittish if they see other people doing it)
4. Ask an employee to open it.
5. Rub moisturizer on your hands before you get in the store.
6. Use the tip of a fingernail to scratch UPward at the side of the bag. This will riffle the layers, making it easier to open.
7. Put the bag up /near/ your mouth and say HAH to it - as if you were cleaning your sunglasses. That'll be just about enough moisture to get it open.
8. Use hand sanitizer on your fingertip.
9. Bring your own bags, already opened.
10. Click your heels three times and say "there's no place like home."

Most, if not all UK supermarkets do not supply plastic bags large or small anymore.
Goods are either already wrapped or loose.
You can buy reusable bags.
Pack your own purchases at checkout, bring your own carry bags.
Return your shopping trolley or lose your £1.
Way the shops are cutting staff, we'll probably be doing a bit of shelf stacking before we will be allowed to shop soon!

I pull the bags down from the roller until it latches on the hook. I then open the bag while it is still latched. Once I open the bag I pull it from the latch. It makes it a lot easier. No figuring out which end is the open side. Hope this helps.

If there is a hand cleaner nearby put your fingers under it to get them wet. Usually there is one by the meat dept. in Walmart.

Rub the opening area of the bag briskly between your two hands and it should open more easily?

Pick one of the hand wipes at the front of the store and put it in the cart. Wet your fingers with it. The bags are easy to open if your fingers are damp.

Take the bag and unfold it. Then hold it toward the top and rub your hands together with the opening still at the top. The top easily opens. Please everyone, don’t lick your fingers to open the bag and then pick thru loose veggies and fruits.

I’m with you! I go to the produce that is sprayed with water occasionally- touch the water and the bags are easily opened once your fingers are damp!

using a wet wipe and moistening your fingers will help to open those plastic bags. I know Walmart has those wipes in the beginning of the store for the carts. You can also use your hand sanitizer to wet your fingers.

Easy peezie. I have the same problem and have learned a few new curse words whilst trying to open the darn plastic bags. But, then I discovered something. I won't put my fingers in my mouth to get them wet (afterall, how many nasty surfaces have I touched in the store and in getting there). I go to where they have asparagus. Asparagus is always in a bath of water. I get my fingers wet, then slide them across the recalcitant plastic bag for tension and presto, I get the bag open and I don't draw the attention of my fellow shoppers by muttering curse words under my breath!

first you have to work up some saliva in your mouth then spit on your fingers(never put your fingers in your mouth)you have no idea where they have been. Once that saliva encases your fingers you will have no problem. When done just wipe your hands on your shirt! This works for me.

Grab the top of the bag from each side and give a quick little pull. That should stretch the opening up enough to separate it-A vegetable vendor told me that trick!

What are the most efficient ways to open a box of corn flakes? Sometimes it just seems to take forever.

Buy a plastic Tupperware type box, cut the cereal bag with scissors, and pour the cereal into the box. It will keep the cereal fresher.

I've always watched people wad them up in the palm of their hand and roll them around like a rag, and they seem to pop right open ! I'm a fan of taking reusable bags with me, or at least using the plastic grocery ones twice, take a couple in your pocket when you come back next time just to use for the produce. Much better anywy.... if you've ever tried to put 4-6 ears of fresh corn into one of those flimsy produce bags, you already know what I mean... lol.

LOVE the new little mini bag "reminders" Publix is giving out with their new free resuable bags ! However, I have little confidence in this habit ever catching on in our country ! ?

[Hold the bag close to your mouth, take a deep breathe and blow out of your mouth.
This makes the end damp and opens easily. May take a second try.

If you don't want to lick your finger, go to the part of the produce section where the produce gets sprayed. Get your fingers wet by touching a wet vegetable and then the bags will open.

You have to put the ears in silk-end down. That way they don't rip the bag.
