Anyone have any experience dealing with/buying from Fast Eddie’s Golf Carts? Planning our move this fall and looking into GC purchase. Their prices almost seem to good to be true. Thanks.

OK, if they are almost too good to be true, I would be very suspicious. There are several local golf cart stores that sell new or refurbished (with warranty) golf carts which would be my first choice, and then, there are many for sale on this site. I would contact some of the local mobile golf cart services to have the cart checked out before purchase, unless they have documented service records. I would be very leery of any electric cart at a low price, you may be getting old batteries, or very cheap batteries.

The name “Fast Eddies” should in itself give you pause!

I read this to my wife, and she thought it was a good joke. Keep the jokes coming when you get to the Villages. When you're ready to buy a car, we will introduce you to Slick Johnny.

I really thought this was a trolling post, but there really is a place called Fast Eddies Golf car in Ocala.

OP, were you really considering buying from Fast Eddies?

Definitely don't play him at Pool for your cart and money is my only thought.:icon_wink:

Thank you villagetinker for your response and insight. We appreciate it as we are a bit overwhelmed by everything as many new villagers can understand.

Papa lecki, not until I did research. Hence the post.

OP ask if you can have an independent cart mechanic, do an inspection at your cost. If seller agrees, then go for it. If sellers decline run away fast.

A name like “Fast Eddie” I would be wary.

Wholesale Golf Carts just outside the villages has been exceptional to us. They have guarantees.

I would buy one where you are now before making the move. The gc here are extremely overpriced.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is...

You should always check the reviews on google and Facebook. That is the best way to know if they are doing good business or not. Fast Eddie’s has THE BEST reviews!

You can’t go wrong with a low mileage/hours used Yamaha EFI or Quiet Tech being sold by the original owner from rye TOTV classified section. They run practically forever, have minimal maintenance, no taxes buying used in private transaction, and are available between about 6 - 12 grand depending on model year and features. Best of luck.

There are zillions of used ones around. There was one on one of The Villages FaceBook pages this morning, that was 2-3 months old, with about 20 hours on it ... for a substantial discount from new.

Coming from a No Sales Tax state, I almost choked at the Tax on my new cart. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a used one and avoided the Sales Tax.

NO TAX and like new...I have one for sale as life changes occur, it is now in Wisconsin.

I could meet part way back there if someone is seriously interested.
