I read where a groing number of gamers are over 50 years old. Curious, anyone here in The Villages playing Call of Duty? Looking for more players to play on-line with. We have a few but are looking to expand our friend lists.

I have played ll the war games and other online games the past 25 years and eventually moved over to a ps4 trying to compete with the younger generations. Dusted off my console game a few weeks ago but my reflexes are terrible. Was playing with a group,of 60 and 70 year olds regularly. Sometimes life gets in the way now.

Ooh. I was just thinking about posting to see if there were any gamers on ToTV.

I might be interested…even though right now I’m playing Diablo IV on my PlayStation 5.

On what platform are you playing CoD?

I play under the name Bink_arama. For older players there are two modes that are slower and we can keep up with the youngsters. We play, DMZ and Plunder. (Within Call of Duty). You should give it a try.

I play mostly shooters Arma 3, Squad the BF series and would join a PC gamers club. Currently I been playing Nations at War a BF2 mod and I love it. I play with a group of gamers from all over the world.

I've been on PS5 for over a hear and find the competition difficult in some games but, as Scott mentioned, playing Plunder or DMZ with a group makes it more enjoyable and challenging without it becoming frustrating.

Slow and steady wins the race. Reils80 is my ID anyone is looking to jump on.

What Call of Duty are we talking about here? There are quite a few versions. (I, II, Modern Warfare, etc.)

I’m now a Microsoft Flight Simulator guy…at my age I can no longer keep up with the speed of the online combat games. I would like to also connect with local MSFS enthusiasts ….

I have about 350 hours on Battlefield 2042. I'll tell you, it's tough sledding for hundreds of hours but now that I have found my favorite weapons and attachments and developed some sneaky tactics, I have my K/D ratio in the positive range.

I started with trying to get one kill per match....then "not last" on my team....then trying to get in the middle 50% of the bell curve....then top 50%...just trying to progress. Last night it all came together and I ended up top score of my (losing) team. Yeah!

If anybody is playing BF2042 it would be fun to hook up online.

I play(ed) a game called Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley doesn’t really fit in the game types you guys describe but I played it during Covid. I played in on- line with a younger family group and it was fun. Wouldn’t mind doing that again. Don’t know any people our age that play video games.

I use to be addicted to that game 30+ years ago. Played it so much that it caused me back and shoulders issues. Got a Qwest Occulus and am just as addicted to population :One. Involves lots of strategy and team coordination. Teams are just randomly assigned for the most part. Keeps you moving as well. To each his own. Getting the blood pumping is exciting.

If you're getting worn out by the video games and would like to keep your mind active with strategy board games instead, we've got a regular group on Monday nights at El Santiago. Check out "Retreads Strategy Board Games" in the Villages schedule of events. Usually have three to four tables going with different board games ranging from moderate to heavy-duty complexity.

Contact me, Doc Honour, at ehonoursr@gmail.com.

I play COD on pc and have been playing for about 6months. I would enjoy playing in a group with other Villagers. How do I hook up with your group?

Current PC games I play are Insurgency: Sandstorm and Escape from Tarkov. Bought COD MW several years ago and played for about 1 year. I'll try DMZ/Warzone. It would be fun playing with other Villagers.

Hey All, I'm also an old gammer from years ago (remember LAN parties??). Also interesting in Microsoft Flight Sim. Any chance we can get a Villages Facebook page going for everyone to stay in touch and plan events?

I used to play online but got tired of getting cussed out by 12 year olds because of how terrible I am. So now I just do the campaigns.
