INTERIM HEAD OF SCHOOL Holy Trinity Episcopal School Fruitland Park, FL
Holy Trinity Episcopal School is a non-profit, independent school serving students in grades 6-12 who struggle to learn, belong, and make friends due to conditions such as autism, ADHD/ADD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other challenges. Current enrollment of 42 students with 11 teachers and 3 support staff. We seek a talented educator to serve as our Interim Head of School (IHOS) for the 2023-24 academic year. This opportunity is available immediately. The IHOS will be considered in the search for our new Head of School.
In close partnership with the School Board, the Interim Head of School will advance the school’s mission and manage all day-to-day operations (academic, administrative, financial) of the school. The IHOS position reports directly to the School Board Chair with accountability to the Parish Rector.
Minimum Qualifications: • Undergraduate Degree in education or related area • Three or more years teaching experience at the secondary school level • Significant academic leadership or administration • Proven commitment to education and the capacity to lead the continued development of effective curriculum and training across grades 6-12 • Prior experience instructing students with autism or learning disabilities is a plus, as is experience at an independent school. Competencies and Skills: • Ability to embody and advocate the mission of the school consistent with our Episcopal School identity • Ability to work collaboratively with a forward-thinking school board leadership team • Understanding to work with students who learn differently in ways that are both affirming and supportive • Emotional intelligence to lead and mentor faculty and staff, and be a resource to parents • Ability to balance multiple demands in ways that are effective and well organized • Ability to manage difficult conversations effectively • Optimism, faith, energy, and a sense of humor necessary for joyful leadership Compensation and Benefits: Full-time. Salary up to 50K/year with benefits.
