Spectrum has been ringing door bells and tell home owners they will be working on the pedestals in their yard,. And then the sales pitch about selling you their service they are just using this as away of getting around the soliciting laws in our community.

Stop them immediately by stating No Soliciting.

If you put a small no soliciting sign next to your doorbell 95% of sales people will not bother you. I put one on 6 years ago and it worked great, you can get them at Ace Hardware for a couple dollars. In the beginning the Jehovah's Witness group rang our bell and said they were not soliciting and I said they were soliciting my attention, they left and never came back. I think they have a stay away list now as there are new groups all the time and they just skip our home.

If Spectrum rep knocks on your door consider yourself lucky, that is the only way to get internet for 19.99 for 300 mbps. No other provider in the villages has internet for these rates. Many residents have signed up with Lysander Jimenez, he has numerous of exceptional reviews on Nextdoor. He can be reached at 352-239-3538. His customer service is top notch unlike anything that I was getting from Xfinity. Its great to have competition in The Villages.

In sales school I was taught the ones that post those signs do so because they have difficulty saying no to a sales pitch
Accordingly approach them first

What pedestals in our yards? Do we have pedestals in our yards?

I think it was reasonable to get told that there would be work done at the edge of my yard. Then I was ASKED if I might have interest in their internet and TV service. I could have said no at that point but I was interested, better than getting more junk mail and finding the area had no coverage.

And I bet you got a better deal than if you called in or went online. If someone is not interested, how hard is it to say I am not interested. SMH...

Yep. They are meaningless. They might dissuade solicitors, that is all. Streets are county owned, and your driveway is owned by you. TV has no authority over either.

When I lived up north, I had a letter-sized sign that said "NO soliciting, NO religious groups!" It worked pretty well. I had two salesmen ignore the sign. I reported both to their employers.
