If the tee boxes had grass that nice, you could, but they wouldn't stay very nice for long.

Before I looked, I thought it would not be worse than Laura Davis.
Watched video, and low and behold!
Seen LD play many times over the years, and she has always done that.
To be honest, I did same when using wedge off tee.
Just one thump, with back of club, not excavations like she did.
