Federal FEP Blue Dental: Increased Premium

I was just informed via mail by OPM that my premium for this dental insurance has more than doubled. Anyone else?

I'm not surprised. Dentists will charge insured clients whatever amount the market will bear. I don't buy the FEP dental, vision, life, or long-term care insurance. These policies are offered by the OPM system, but the premiums are not subsidized by the Federal Government. The only insurance that is subsidized is the medical insurance, which is a defined benefit and a very good deal. I think OPM should stop selling these non-subsidized insurance policies, and require private insurance companies to market their policies themselves.

I am on the modified Retiredguy123 plan. I self insure but go to Costa Rica for any major dental requirements. Far cheaper than OPM offerings.
