R/C Sail Boats

I hope someone can help me. Last year when I was visiting the villages I ran across a group of sailors sailing R/C sail boats. I am really interested in this as a hobby.

Is there a forum dedicated to the sport?

Can anyone help advise me in what might be the best starter boat.

I have sailed small dingy's such as a sun fish and Force 5. Those skills would be fun to transfer to a Model boat.

There’s a R/C boat lake at Everglades Rec center. You might want to call there or stop by and see what you can find out. I know the R/C cars are there on Thursday and Saturdays.

Go to Village Community Development Districts (http://www.districtgov.org) click. on Recreation and look for lifestyle clubs.
There are many RC boat clubs with contacts.

They are usually sailing tuesday mornings at the Bonita pond on Canal Street.
