I would get these before the new roof, then if there is a leak, you will know who to contact.

They can do a better job of sealing them if they go on first, rather than retrofit them into the existing shingles.
Correction - I should have said at the time they are doing the new roof.

Good ?. Probably the best time would be when the new roof is being installed. If solar comes after new roof, solar company would have to cut into new roof. Would rather have the roofer tell you the best time.

After. Unlike other posters I have actually installed my own.
Ideally the flashing goes UNDER the shingles. On new roofs the shingles may be separated. On old roofs the shingles are sealed together due to the Florida heat and the flashing must go on top of the shingles.

Solar guys said it did not matter if they were doing the work as they are also roofers.
Having said that would think the tubes should go on first.

I would check with the Solar Tube installer first. I believe we were told that a new roof after tubes were installed would void the solar tube warranty.

We had new roof and an additional solar tube installed. The same company did both. One would think tube before roof. That is not the way the industry does the work. Solar tube is installed after roofing. Has to do with warranties. That is why we went with one company for both.
Roofing Guys & Solar Guys did a great job.

Last year I had a new roof put on and new solar tubes put in by the Roof Guys and their sister company the Solar guys. They put the roof on first and then put the tubes in. I was surprised by that order of things, but they said that they have a process for doing it and that the roof always goes on first.
Others may do it differently, but that is how they did it and it seems that everything is fine as a result.
Really love how the tubes light up the darker places in my house!

I would have the same company do both, so there’s no he said she said if there’s a leak

I'd go the route of having the roofer install the solar tubes.
Most of your roofers install solar tubes, this way both the roof and the solar tubes are properly sealed and guaranteed.

We used The Roof Guys for the new roof and solar tubes, they did the solar tubes after the roof was installed, I always thought the opposite, but they said it was better if they did it last . Something about the seal ,

Get a bid from the Roofing Guys because their related to the Solar Guys. They have $500.00 coupon in the paper all the time.
