Under Cabinet Lighting question

Looking for hard wired undercabinet/over cabinet lighting that I can have different colors under each cabinet section- ie.for july 4th, red under one section, white under the next and blue under the next- want to be able to program them to come on at their prior set color

Has this function with under cabinet battery puck lights but chewed through batteries and also had to set each puck separately each time

I have installed the LED under and over cabinet lighting in several houses, I have never seen what you are asking for. I have seen versions that will slowly run between colors, and the newest controllers MAY allow specific color combinations, but these are for the entire string. You MAY be able to have separate controllers for each cabinet section to get the effect you want, but I have seen interference with multiple remote controls.

I did some research on Amazon, and there MAY be Wi-Fi type controllers that will do what you want, but it also appears that you may need one controller per cabinet (or light segment). There are also LED strips that have addressable LEDs which with a suitable controller may work, HOWEVER I do not think these can be cut to fit so installation may be difficult, also not sure if these would be water resistant. Your project is going to need a lot of research.

How much DIY are you looking for? Here is a full feature DIY system, but it will take your time to set up...

Start with an LED strip. Pick the density of LEDs (how many per inch; aka how much space between each one). Select a strip that has addressable LEDs. That means each individual LED color and brightness can be set. Get one that is water resistant. Whatever length you want.

Then get a controller. One nice one is at electromage (dot com). That can be set to do anything you want with each LED. Set up fades, motion, or static colors. Set the LEDs above the stove to bright white when cooking. Fold back the LED strip for more brightness there. All white, or one length the color you want, the others off (for uniformity with other areas). Controller access is wireless (your house LAN) and hosts its own web page interface. Powers up with memory of last pattern.
Examples:
20 LEDs red, next 20 green, next 20 red, next 20 green...
35 LEDs red, next 15 green, next 25 red, next 40 green...
Many alternating sections of LEDs, fading gradually between red and green and blue and white and nnnnn.

You will need a power supply. Get a switching type, not linear.

Might want some strip connectors to make wiring easier.

This is not for the "call XYZ company" person. It's a highly versatile and customizable LED light system. You are not likely to find anything like this commercially.

Simply get a 12vDC (or 5v or whatever voltage it uses) ac adapter and cut the 2 wires that go to the battery holder (or just tap the wires), connect to the adapter and use what you have if you like it. LED's are very forgiving, so s $2 eBay adapter or one you find on garbage day will be fine. LED's are very low current.

EDIT: If you really want to spend money these folks have everything (strips, parts anything). Been buying from them for years:LED Lighting For Everything | Super Bright LEDs (https://www.superbrightleds.com). eBay and Amazon also has a large low end selection which all work fine and likely no different from what the "expensive" places sell or use.

Liquid Lights did ours. New remotes they have can control multiple strips separately. Also a wifi version. Stay away from the junk at the big box stores or online.

Liquid Lights does not professionally install the lights in as much as running the wires properly through the walls, into junction boxes, and into a wall switch plate. I declined their amateur installation approach as I wanted a professionally installed arrangement.

This is absolutely possible. I wired LEDs under my home bar and across the back bar and can have different colors in any section, or the same colors all around through the use of a remote control. The only limitation I had is the remote control is an IR remote control as opposed to an RF remote control, so the receptor point needs to have a line of sight access to the remote. I do believe that they make an adapter that would allow you to use an RF remote control.

Each LED strip runs on a 12 V DC power supply and you can cut each LED strip to the desired length and then position it where you need it either over or under your cabinet. They make small extensions so that you can run different strips on the same powered circuit to achieve the look that you want.

There are many more sellers that offer similar items. These strips can be cut and linked to small adapters (plugged in) that allow you to negotiate corners or small gaps, as well as extenders that would (in your case) allow you to skip over one cabinet and go to the next and run an additional strip.

You would need a few power supplies for your particular arrangement, but this is definitely do-able and wouldn’t be very costly. Good luck.

Ended up doing what they wanted $250 for for $19. Obviously one must be able to DIY this stuff or be stuck paying "The Villages Vig". "Service businesses" down here are most usually overpriced because they know most/many folks can't DIY or don't care how much they pay. I wish I was in the "don't care what I pay" group but I really enjoy DIY. Obviously some folks just can't DIY due to health reasons and sadly they are the ones who most often get taken advantage of.

To the OP there are several items you listed that I have not seen combined, I am not sure any of the local electrical firms are doing what you are looking for. I always look at it like buying a car (especially around here). If they do that (drop price) immediately and without argument, you are still paying way too much! :D :D.

Had shutters done a couple years ago and went through the "can you do any better" routine and the guy says "sure, I'll drop it $200" (was around $2K) Then he called me a week later after I didn't get back to him and said "his boss told him he could do it for $500 less." I told him I already contracted for a lot less than his "bosses" deal. Yea, the quality was the same.

But you are right, if one doesn't ask, they get nothing but even with that most are still paying "The Villages Premium".

I looked at the reviews and the 1 and 2 star reviews were not good. I also noticed on the product description it said EPOXY coating, all of the others I have seen are SILICONE coating, epoxy is very brittle. looks sketchy to me.

- What generation of LEDs are used. Older cannot show purple, pink, green very well, or as bright as reds.

Wyze is a cheap choice. It does not have most features that a high quality system has. Trade price for quality & performance.
Wyze also has a bed reputation for lousy wifi connectivity. People are constantly complaining about how things drop offline. Wyze blames customer's network, yet everything else works fine. The loudest complaints are about their cameras because those are most obvious.
