We continually hear claims that the Republicans are there to fulfill the interests of ‘big business, Wall Street, etc.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. It is the Democrats that have been bought and paid for and cheerfully comply with their Master’s wishes. Look at the data for the 2010 election put together by US News and World Report if you doubt this: http://politics.usnews.com/congress/industries

The top 50 groups of industry are ranked by total contribution and then show the split between Democrats and Republicans. Ten out of the top tend special interest groups gave more to Democrats than they do to Republicans. The top two special interest groups: Lawyers and Law Firms, and Health Professionals overwhelmingly support Democrats – with the largest recipient being Harry Reid. Is there any question with this kind of monetary support Harry Reid won the election and is permanently indebted to and compliant with the wishes of these special interests? Why else do you think that tort reform was not a part of Obamacare?

Look at the numbers, one and only one party represents special interests and major contributing groups. It’s time we followed the money and realized that the party that professes itself as being for the middle class and the workers in this country is anything but that. Please use logic in your replies – the numbers do not lie. Show how they do if you want to dispute that Democrats have been bought, paid for and are delivering on their master’s wishes.

All that means is that the Democrats had a higher price tag. After all, those businesses had to compete with the labor unions.

While we all do not agree on politics, I hope we are all feeling the spirit of Christmas.

This is the second year that I have volunteered as a Salvation Army bell ringer. I will be at Wal-Mart on 466 at the main entrance (not food entrance) on Tuesday from 10 am until 12 noon.

It is amazing to see how generous that Villagers are to help those less fortunate. The red kettles are filled with paper money by the end of the day. Stop by on Tuesday, introduce yourself, say "Hi and Merry Christmas", and feel free to make a contribution. Thanks.
