It seems like the Glenview Golf Shop has been closed for about two weeks. The course now has people checking you in at the Starter Shacks. Does anyone know what is going on here?

Staff alludes to a water leak but are not all that forthcoming.

Watch out if they start selling everything at 50% off, that happened at Hacienda Hills a couple weeks before it was announced they were tearing everything down.

Since none of the starter shacks have toilets and you can't get into the clubhouse...........PLAN AHEAD.

How is it possible, that one of the few legitimate, semi-country clubs in TV has its buildings closed for 2 weeks and no one has a clue, why?

Seems odd to me. Has BigFoot or the LochNess Monster been sighted on property?

Played there two weeks ago and was told by the starter they had a water leak in the ceiling and it caused some major damage. By the way the course was in great shape however my golf game was not.

Did the District take over the management of all the courses October 1st ?

Championship Courses don't have much to do with "the District". They are privately owned.

Long term water leak probably from Air Conditioning condensate, which allowed mold to grow. Pro shop to be gutted and rebuilt. Probably looking at first of new year,

Finally a legitimate update. Thank you.

It must have a been a long running leak. Gutting the entire pro shop seems like a drastic solution.

For most, there will be sneezing and wheezing but for those with an autoimmune disease it can lead to severe complications. In rare cases, it can be fatal. Elderly populations could be at high risk.

Black mold is dangerous for humans, sometimes fatal.

That's ridiculous, but good to see you're back. I have 10 days on the over/under.

Black Mold: Exposure, Symptoms, Treatment, and More (https://www.healthline.com/health/black-mold-exposure)No idea what you mean by glad I am back. I haven't gone anywhere.

I have been a contractor all my life. Some people will argue black mold has no effects and others will say it does tremendous harm. Google is not your friend when it comes to your health. I worked with a team when hurricane Andrew came through Florida. More than half of my coworkers got ill. One had to be hospitalized. It was found exposure to black mold spores was the cause. For this reason and many others, I never google for an answer when my health is at risk. I am pretty certain if I were to google black mold exposure, I will find just as many sites that say it is harmful. That is the danger of googling. You can always find the answer you want. It may or may not be the correct one. It is always best to get a medical diagnosis when your health is at risk. I personally trust a team of medical experts over some information I googled. (But, that's just my opinion)

Sorry to be rude, but you must have missed the fact that the District was taking over the management of all the golf courses in TV. The developer is going to reimburse the District for expenses .

I know the Developer has contracted with the District to provide staffing at some Championship courses.

If you've seen an agreement for the District to take over management of all the Championship courses, please post it.

The course is the best. Fairways that are like premium carpet. Seem to float on the ground beneath my feet.

I asked a simple question and you gave the wrong answer from the get go. First you said they had nothing to do with it. Then you say you know that they are staffing some of the championship courses. I only know what they released at the time and it was to manage all the courses.

You're apparently confused.

As of Oct 1, the District is supposedly providing staff for some Championship courses. This is essentially the reverse of how it used to work, in that the Championship courses used to provide staff for the District's Executive Courses.

If you have some further information other than "I only know what they released", I'm sure we'd all love to see it.

No, you are really confused.

“It’s the natural progression and how we do things in The Villages,” said Deputy District Manager Carrie Duckett.

The 1,000 ambassadors, starter shack employees and Golf Operations Administrator David Williams would all begin receiving their paychecks from The Villages District government, rather than the Developer.

“It’s going to be the same starters and people. But rather than working for the Developer, they will be paid by the District. Residents won’t see a change,” Duckett said.
