I am wondering what the miles per gallon people are getting?

According to my sales person, my Yamaha is suppose to get 40 mpg. Have never had a reason to doubt that. Kinda hard to check without an odometer.

A tank of fuel on my Yamaha will last right at a week. And I mean I run the wheels off it too. I'm never home. I'm running the roads non-stop.

Our Yamaha has an odometer/speedometer combo(the cart was purchased from Carts and Clubs in Ocala). When the odometer reaches approx. 150 miles we refill the tank with 3 1/2 gallons of gas. The cart is used for 3-4 rounds of golf per week and daily travels. We also have an electric cart but do not use it for long hauls any longer. We are a two cart family and rarely use the car. Your sales person is correct.

Since I bought my Yamaha gas cart with curtis cab enclosure in February I been averaging between 42 - 45 mpg.

I also average the same. The tank is suppose to hold 6 1/2 gals, but when it looks just about empty to me it still only takes about 3 1/2 gals. I'm beginning to wonder it really holds that much.

I run my Yamaha cart everywhere too and usually get between 200-300 hundred miles on a tank of gas. I usually don't fill it up till it's down about a quarter tank or less. Much cheaper than driving the truck.

It's the same as the proverbial 'Ford versus Chevy' dilemma. Some folks like electric carts for reasons that make perfectly good sense to them............and the same goes for those who buy gas carts.

You're doing the right thing - researching, asking questions, etc. Then you can base your purchase decision on what makes the most sense to YOU. :)

More than the advantage of not filling up the tank for two to three weeks, I find the real advantage to the gas cart is for month after month all I do is check the tires. It requires no other maintenance.

still prefer a gas cart. I can drive to Georgia if I want too.

TommyT, you are correct about opening that can of worms. But now that it is open, anyone want to go fishing.
