Looking for a device to keep plants warm during frost when we are away. Can cover them when we are here but if away for a few weeks this is not a viable option. I can turn it on and off remotely but cannot find a waterproof warmer
Any ideas?

I’m also looking for a solution. I’m thinking of using the type of heat tape that is used on the roof to prevent ice dams. Wrap it around the tree trunks and intersperse through other at risk plants. We’ll be here so I’ll be able to see how it works.

IMHO, I would contact a neighbor to see if they would be willing to wrap the plants, you would supply the materials and suitable compensation (dinner, scotch, etc) for their labor, and very important, they would NOT be held liable if plants were damaged. I wrapped several of ours last winter, 2 died despite my efforts.

Up north many people use cheap incandescent (non-LED) Christmas lights wrapped around their plants or subtropical trees. These could be switched on/off remotely via Google Home or Alexa by plugging the Christmas lights into a smart plug.
