I’m predicting that the next complaint posted on TOTV will be about the POA littering our driveways with their rag.

Any other predictions?

Given the time of the year, it’s as certain as clockwork that the snowbird complaints will be ramping up at a steady pace over the next three months.

I thought the POA delivered only to those who are paid-up members?

It's the one from Lady Lake I hate - the editor is obviously only running the "paper" to spout his far right views to everyone. He must have money to waste! His are certainly unsolicited and I have been unable to stop them, despite asking several times.

I think the POA Newspaper is very valuable and offers the only alternative to the Developer point of view. Just would like to opt for an electronic copy.

The only "Rag" I don't subscribe to is the The Daily Sun

After Christmas, with a full house, definitely T times will be an issue.
Towards end of January, early February, without a doubt, poor golf course conditions.
Dog poop, roundabouts, waiting times/lousy food in restaurants are certainties.

My own personal complaint is those who "could care less" do not state the percentage they "could not care less."
As for their, there and they're, don't get me started! :icon_wink:

The poa has done some good things. Years back they got a 15 million dollar settlement from the developer for upkeep of rec centers. Hoa is developer backed and never has a bad thing to say. They do have good clinics and social events.

Yes, you can stop the delivery of the POA newspaper, whether you are are member or non-member.

I did this a while ago for my home.

Follow this link. You will need to create a Guest account, and update your delivery preferences:

POA of The Villages | Property Owners Association of the Villages (https://www.poa4us.org/)

Note: I am not a member of the POA. And yes, the paper is delivered each month to almost all the homes. $$$ for the publisher.

Yes many homes have their residents away, and the paper lies on the driveway for days, weeks, or months.

True ! I confess I have a bit of dread each "winter" as the traffic multiplies and the crowding increases, but then, it was no different when not yet retired and living in south Florida. 95 ??? Total nightmare in general, in "bird" season, a daunting task to just get to work on time no matter if you started before sunrise ! Price we pay for living in this beautiful state..... We get a little frustrated every season, but also nice to see friends from the "far north"...LOL !

hummmm ... maybe the percentage of broken "gates" and a corresponding rise in amenity fees to repair them ? No idea which, if permanent residents or air B&B and snowbird people hit them more, but the damage seems to never diminish ! ?

True, and what would have happened had there been no push-back or counter indicators concerning the prolific use of inferior Corning shingles that impacted so many, and the inferior sheet rock, and many other occurrences that were not exposed by a balance of power and agendas (POA & HOA have vastly different agendas). Its a micro view of what our founding father's knew, regardless of which "side" of an issue one is one, the most important element is to always have different entities, at least two political parties, two home owner organizations, always choices, what ever, exclusivity is always a dangerous path to dictatorship ! !

If you want to see what everyone who hates the villages has to say (and many that don’t even live here) then v!LL@ges-news,c0m (spelled wrong because it’s blocked here, but you should be able to figure it out) is the place to go. Anything that can be twisted to make the village sound bad is published there, and the comments are almost as toxic as those on Nextdoor, com

I rarely read the POA news, mostly due to their viewpoint. However, I would rather they deliver it to me via my driveway, than stuffed in my mailbox. Just my preference.
Do or did we really need a new poll to find out what pet peeves need to be complained about next?

Was in Sams and a NON service golden doodle defecated on the floor. Owner must have known that the dog did this since he had a wipe readily available to pick it up and did pick it up. In meantime some Publix shoppers are mad that they can not bring in their non service dogs into the store.
