Permanent as in on cinder blocks or not use the garage, and keep the car in the driveway?
If not use garage and keep the car in the driveway, that’s fine

Where else would they park it? Most people got garage full of junk and have no other place to park it. Myself I would be thankful they didn’t park it in front of my house.

You can park a car on drive with a large white cross on the roof though.

There are some over 55 communities that do not allow driveway parking so your question is a good one for someone looking for a new home.

Agree about the white crosses. Very plain. Yellow, green, pink or sky blue. Polka-dot, rainbow or change theme with the season. Much more interesting, imho.

Agree. Before I found a house here, I found a neighborhood that did not allow overnight parking in driveways. I immediately crossed them off of my list, even though some of the houses were lovely. Where would guests park? A few miles away?

Interesting little deed restriction tidbit. The only person authorized to park in front of your house is yourself. Anyone else is in violation.

We have 3 cars and a cart in a 2.5 garage house so we are always in the driveway. There are limits in some areas as to the SIZE of the vehicle - commercial vehicles, RVs - even large passenger trucks.

Not exactly. Deed restrictions vary depending on where you live. In courtyard villas, homeowners cannot park on the street at all. Only visitors are allowed to park on the street. In most other areas, the street is a county road. Deed restrictions have no authority to control who parks on a county road because it is not the homeowner's property.

You can park on public streets in the Villages except in Wildwood. They will tag your car if left overnight

No one can park on the street in Wildwood sections of TV at any time. This is Wildwood city statute enforced by Wildwood police. There is an exception for service vehicles.

Note that the streets in the courtyard villa sections are private roads owned and maintained by The Villages. They are not controlled by the City of Wildwood. This is according to The Villages Property Management Department.

The rules are unique to your CDD district, to some specific areas (like villas), and to some specific town districts. In CDD6, where I live, the covenants say:
"No trucks in excess of 3/4 ton size, boats, or recreational vehicles shall be parked, stored, or otherwise remain on any Homesite or street, except for (a) service vehicles located thereon on a temporary basis while performing a service for a resident or (b) vehicles fully enclosed in garages located on the Homesite. No vehicles incapable of operation shall be stored on any Homesite nor shall any junk vehicles or equipment be kept on any Homesite."
So here, parking on the driveway is perfectly okay. Even parking on the street is okay. Just so long as your vehicle is a normal car or light truck.
Your price likely varies.

I lived in a deed restricted community in Tampa that required cars be kept in the garage and not parked in the driveway. The reason was that they didn't want the neighborhood to look like a parking lot. With homes so close together here, I can see how that might happen if everyone parked in the driveway.

The problem here is that a lot of the houses do not have a 2-car garage and a golf car garage.

In the street is what they do Kingstree Place. We have to zig zag down the street.

Our house has a 1-golf-cart garage, no car garage at all, and a covered carport.
We don't have any vehicles in the garage, that's where we keep the lawnmower and repair bench.
A car, a double-cab pickup truck, and two golf carts. The car is out in the driveway when not in use, and the other three vehicles fit neatly under the carport.

Well, on the north side we have a hoarder who has 3 non-driven vehicles, 3 golf carts (one being used), old trailer full of junk, an ATV parked in back yard not used and garage full of junk. Community Standards has tried to address this junkyard look, but not much getting done. Horrible spectical in nice neighborhood. Then we also wonder why Lady Lake Police don't look into the dozen regulatory highway & construction signs and cones on his dad's property stacked in piles. Yes, he lives with daddy.
