In an amazing display of lack of awareness of what is happening in the world today, General James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, had no idea what Diane Sawyer of ABC asked him about the recent terrorism arrests in London. He finally answered with a question, “London?”

It was not a momentary mental slip because when asked in a clarifying question by Diane Sawyer, “I was a little surprised you didn’t know about London.” General James answered by saying, “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t.” It is unbelievable that the Director of National Intelligence was totally ignorant of a terrorism incident that had been all over the television news and on the front page of the country’s papers.

A few moments later in an attempt to ‘clarify’ things, Janet Napolitano, the Director of Homeland Security, said that Homeland Security was on the job 364 days a year. Shades of 57 states.

Is there something in the water of our nation’s capitol that makes people stupid?

If experience in afield of endeavor and unusual competence in an ability were a factor there would be NO INCUMBENTS in Washington.
Only 8% of Obama's dream team have any business in their background including him. What else would one expect from a fraternity of mostly lawyers and career politicians??

The saddest of all is we the people are the ones who not only elect these stupids, we even re-elect them again....and again....and again.

Just watch Obama's magic spin machine go to work throughout 2011 as he gears up for 2012. The only thing we the people can hope for is that after three years of nothing but words....none of which he has delivered on....more of us will turn a deaf ear to more of the same and get on with dumping him along with the rest of the incumbents.

I was also amazed by this interview. It sure did not give me much confidence in these people. I could not believe Napolitano said "364 days" and Clapper did not know about what happened in London. Later on I heard he said Diane's question was not clear. Oh really!?!

Why should they know about anything important... look who their boss is!
