A small group of us who make "junk" journals, or want to learn this paper craft that has some similarity to scrapbooking, but a great deal is not at all the same, noticed there are no listings in the Villages weekly schedule specifically for this JJ hobby. A few of us have found each other but have not formed an official club (yet), but are trying to find others who might be interested.

This Saturday, Nov. 18th at 1:00 at Colony Cottage, we are going to meet at an activity called Art Buddies. We understand this is an "open studio" type format where people can gather and work on various paper crafts. If you would like some information and instruction on very basic beginning Junk journaling, please just show up this Saturday at Colony Cottage. Some of those who have "found" each other have had some experience in this craft and will share with you. If you are an absolute beginner, I will work with those folks to get you started. It would help, but not necessary, if you bring a few very basic things like scissors, ruler, inexpensive glue like Elmer's or Dot at Dollar Tree, some junk mail envelopes with "windows", small bits of fabric, pieces of ribbon and wrapping paper, used in fine, old greeting cards with or without the envelopes, used cards you've received are just fine as well. Small pieces of fist aid gauze, used postage stamps, an old magazine to cut up, buttons (like the ones that come attached as "extras" on clothing but you never use, lol !), if you have the large size paper clips bring a couple, if you have any stamps and/or a stamp pad (like used in card making hobby) bring a stamp or two. We hope to get enough interested people to make this an official offering through the recreation department. Just come Saturday to C. Cottage at 1 p.m. !
