I know, I don't like the idea of places being open on Christmas Day but we could use it this year. No kids coming, just the two of us for the first time. A walk around Lake Sumter will be nice..... How about Starbucks?, will they be open? Any place else that you know of? It's odd!!!, very odd!!!

I think jdsl was referring to the oddity of being alone on Christmas, possibly for the first time in their lives. That's what I got out of it anyway.

Same here....
I believe the chinese restaurants are open Christmas Day. Also the village movies.

Lots of restaurants are open. There are at least three in SS plus Dennys, and of course the chinese restaurants.

Katie Belle's is open. I think they are having a least six seatings today. We are going there for the 12:45 seating.

This is the first time without our munchkins. It hit my husband last night as their family tradition was on Christmas Eve. It hit me this morning. I have three children and 10 grandchildren in Missouri and Minnesota. Luckily we were invited by friends to share Christmas Dinner with them later today. Here's hoping that next year will be easier for both of us!
Happy New Year!!!:wine:

We just stopped at the one in Georgetown and got a wrap on a warming break after
biking to see the snow covered White House and Capitol.
We agree, there is too much open, even Giant and Safeway.
We liked it in the old days when the city was more deserted and we drove down to see the elaborate disney type moving displays in the Department Store windows.
Do they still have those ?
Do they still have department stores???
