Does anyone know if the NY Deli in Fruitland Park has closed? Tried two phone numbers I found for them and neither could be completed as dialed. They had really good pies and bakery items.

Wouldn't a New York deli have to be in New York? Asking for Stu's friend.

No but the one in Fruitland Park was nothing like a real NY Deli.

Of course it wasn't like a real NY Deli. It was in Fruitland Park, Fl.

And, I was (I thought) making a joke. Guess I'm just not very funny.

There are authentic NY deli's in SE FL. Unfortunately, the closest one is Gourmet Deli in Lake Worth. I get my deli fix ordering from Katz's Deli in NYC. Free shipping on orders $100 and above.

We make our own Pastrami from a Katz knockoff recipe not the same but close also our own 1/2 sour pickles. We've perfected the pickles getting closer with the Pastrami

Legends bought it and is in the process of moving there soon. They also took over the pet spa right next door if I’m thinking of the right place.

Manny's in Chicago was my Jewish delicatessen choice. Always packed. Have never seen anything like it here in Florida.

Your link goes to a list that is almost 8 years old. My go-to place on that list (after Katz's) closed over 5 years ago. I googled up a list that is more recent and your Manny's is on it. There's also a place in Miami that looks promising. Maybe it's time for me to try the Brightline to Miami.

My go-to place (after Katz's) was Ben's Best Deli on Queens Blvd.

Try Gio’s up on 301 just past the intersection off 466. It’s more an Italian, but great stuff along with a restaurant if you want to sit and eat.

The Legends restaurant is moving in there from across the street before the first of the year.
