From an Orlando news site. Celebrating the Villages Woodworker's Club, initiative to make toys for children for Christmas.
"The toys made at Villages Woodworkers Club support children in Sumter, Lake and Marion County through schools, churches and charitable organizations like the Children's Home Society of Florida, Operation Shoebox and Sozo Kids.

More than 120,000 toys have been donated since the start of the program."

Good job woodworkers, some of my favorite people work on projects and now teach there.

What a great story. I had no idea.

I too, had no idea. I have no affiliation with the club, just this news item came up & I thought it was wonderful. So many beautiful, handmade, wooden toys!

I'm one of the "elves". If you are interested, come on down to the Rolling Acres shop. We could always use extra help. Any skill level (including none) is appreciated. You would have to join the Woodworking club.
