When I am looking at homes in the Villages it fascinates me to see the style and creativity of the folks who live in them. Whether a pool design, landscape, custom wall coverings, decorating, garage cabinets, storage, kitchen cabinet reconfiguration etc. etc. etc. Would be pretty amazing to consolidate the ideas with pics and model of home to save my brain for lowering my golf handicap when I arrive in 2024. Just my thought, what is yours. Wouldn't this be helpful? Happy New Year to one and all.

There are probably many items in the Do It Yourself area of this site, I know I have posted several items there, however, I like your idea as it would consolidate these in one location. We have made several modifications to our gardenia over the years.

Designers placed on premium lots (ie. View sites) are all required to have a golf cart garage now. If you go that route, look for those that stretched their garages backward. Also, don’t be confused with a double car garage look and an actual doubled garage and a golf cart garage.

New homes usually have an icon under the homes picture labeled “floor plan”. Just click on the acrobat “PDF” and the plan shows actual dimensions.

I like to look at the for sale listings to get ideas. The older resales have a lot of custom features.

Garage workshop is not as practical as you might think, cold in the winter, hot in the summer and not always practical to add HVAC. I have a working garage, and I carefully plan work around the temperature extremes. If you see the term extended garage you will be in luck this can add 4 feet or more of depth. I just read there are new Verandas(?) in the southern area that have 3 car garages. Hubby could add a wall, some insulation and have a nice size workshop. The other question to ask is if the house can be expanded (very costly) but you could get the additional space you are looking for.

We purchased our Holly model house in December of 2014 to then live here full time starting in Jan of 2017. In 2018, we replaced the 3 pane window in our dinning room with one large single pane window. To this day we have enjoyed our decision to make this change to our home.

There are just so many ideas looking at all the homes for sale interior pictures!

In the picture attached from a Begonia for sale, the owners extended the counter and cupboards along the wall all the way into the "Nook" or "breakfast " area. . . Much better use of space. Had we seen this prior to our design meeting, we probably would have gone for this extension of kitchen space into the nook. Its on the to be considered list!

This post also is an amazing example of ideas found by seeing others final product. It may be about expense but many decisions we may think are good may turn out to be failures others have already recognized. Also, the opposite seeing is believing when looking at the successes realized by others. The models change names however the layouts are the same or similar making the results priceless and relevant across multiple years.
