Great series! Also, have enjoyed Victory at Sea. For many of us growing up WWII was not ancient history, but something that we lived with or barely missed, but which effected our families in many, many ways.

Been watching the 2nd episode which is also very good.

Had not heard of the SS Athenia SS Athenia (1922 - Wikipedia) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Athenia_(1922)) before. But if I had, I forgot about it. German submarine U-30 (1936 - Wikipedia) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_submarine_U-30_(1936)) sunk it.

There is also the SS Athenia sunk in 1917. SS Athenia (1903 - Wikipedia) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Athenia_(1903))
It was sunk by SM U-53 - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SM_U-53).
