Just curious....are there chiropractors in T.V. that have great reputations and some people should stay away from?? I know this site is great for recommendations.

Great information to learn about.....because....that's exactly where I go myself. BUT if I need to leave my Medicare supplement down the road and they're not in the system would love to hear about who I should or might consider!!!

i have always gone to a Chiropractor about every 3 to 4 weeks just to stay in alignment. Had alot of problems a few years back and visiting regularly really seems to help. So, I went to Davis Chiropractic. They would not let me use my xrays which I brought with me but said they would take a new set for free. After the xrays I wanted to get adjusted they said no, I would have to come back for another consutation. Ok, I made another appointment. Dr. Davis comes in and tells me I have all sorts of neck problems (my neck is not bothering me) and he would like me to come back 3 times a week for the next 6-8 weeks. He then walks out and has their financial person come in. She explains that my insurance will not cover these treatments and my cost would be $1800. Then she explains that they have interest free payments for one year or a 18 month program at a small interest rate. I said I have been having maintenance treatments for years and my insurance has always paid. She tells me that my previous Chriropractor was billing illegally because maintenance is not covered. She then asks again which payment plan I want and then we will schedule my appointments. I told her that would not be having these services and walked out. I immediately called my insurance agent and maintenance adjustments are covered by my insurance!!! Be careful with Davis Chiropractic!!

I too had an experience with Davis...back when we came for our Lifestyles I was having some major neck/arm issues. At the time my insurance didn't take care of these visits so I put the visits (he had me coming in every day while we were here) and we put them on our credit card. Don't remember how much they cost now but it was several hundred dollars PLUS he had me purchase a pillow for 90-some dollars. I only used this for a few times and found it was too uncomfortable so money down the drain there. Several months after we were back home, up north, we get a bill from them for $18.00. I called and explained we'd put everything on the credit card and why were we getting billed. The gal said it had something to do with service charges. I didn't argue with her but when I hung up my spouse said we wouldn't pay it. I, instead, wrote a check and sent if off because something didn't set right (even when I was being treated) with me because I thought they'd probably report it and it would affect our credit rating and $18.00 just wasn't worth it. I also notice he's moved his offices AND no longer has the partner he'd had when I was treated there.

Dr. Michelle Zielecki and Dr, Stephen Boyles at the Southern Trace Chiropractic Center are the best. Stay away from Dr. Davis unless you have lots of money or good insurance !

My wife also had an encounter with Dr. Davis Clinic of Chiropractic, She was hurt on her job at General Mills of Buffalo, When we moved to TV she was trying to get a chiropractor that would accept N.Y. State Disability, It was a fruitless effort as the Doctors down here said that N.Y. doesn't pay enough, So as a result since she was in pain and Dr. Davis's add in the Daily Sun claims fantastic results she went to him. First there was a consultation and X-Rays. He stated that her neck was out of alignment and would require his DRS Protocol treatment. This would cost $4400.00 Up front before treatment could be started, She also was given the option of payments, but we chose to pay in full via. credit card. (MISTAKE # ONE) should never have paid in advance. After the six weeks of treatment with NO improvement so to speak of, She was brought in for an evaluation and told that it would cost another $2000.00 to continue, When we said NO he got up and walked out of the meeting, Since that we have been receiving bills and letters from creditors asking for another $2200.00 dollars, What for we don't know, when I called Dr. Davis to find out about these charges, I was told that he don't talk to anyone, when I said that I was coming in to talk to him about these charges I was told tha they would have the police there to arrest me. Some way to run a business... Since than my wife has gone to another Chiropractor and found out that the X-Ray that was taken was of the wrong area and the treatment that she was receiving was wrong. Since this new DR, took over, within the second visit she was able to raise her hands over her head (hasn't been able to do that for months). Just want to advise all to check out all doctors before putting down any money the only solution we got from the DRS protocol was a lighter bank account.

If you are looking for a Chiropractor that really cares about his patients, Check out Legacy Clinic of Chiropractic, Dr. John Theeck is one in a million that really takes the time to treat everyone with care and respect. He doesn't have a fancy building with his name on it but rather a small location in Laurel Manor. No big up front payments also. Check him out if you are in pain.:BigApplause:

This guy NEEDS to be reported!! This is highly unprofessional and uncalled for (the threatening part--re: calling the police when all you wanted was an explanation). When we were in his office (then in the Laural Manor complex) my thoughts were that he seemed to be a bit "slick". Also...word of mouth reports also should affect his "business" !!!!

My brother is a very successful Chiropractor up here in western NY. I will be moving down there soon, and will miss his excellent care. He graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College over 20 years ago with honors. I hope I can find someone as good as he is when we move down there.
I'm shocked at some of these posts. I know my brother will be, as he is nothing like the one "Dr." I read about here. Sadly, there are a few bad apples in every profession.

My husband goes to Doctor Boyles and thinks he's just the greatest.
Worked wonders for him
His promotional(first) Exam was $25.00 and for a spinal adjustment it's $55.00.

One of the reason's I chose Dr. Davis back when was his ad said he'd graduated from Palmer (where my chiro's up north had also graduated from). I was told after my encounter by my "up north chiro" that Palmer teaches many different techniques. From the several I had over the years who trained there, I can attest to this. As someone else stated here, there are ALL kinds of folks in this business. Some have high ethical standards and others are in it to make the "big bucks"...just MHO!!!!

I should have mentioned that my husband was an honors graduate at Palmer, and his background really qualified him for a medical career..... Unlike medicine, BAD Chiropractors give the profession a bad name....My husband had one of the largest single doctor practices in North Carolina BECAUSE his concern was for his patients not the MONEY and was quite impressed with Dr. Stephen Boyles...Again, highly recommend..

Thank you all. We plan on moving down there very soon. I will miss my brothers adjustments and was hoping I could find a Chiropractor like my brother.
I've been very blessed with my brother. He has the biggest practice around here and is loved by many...and is known as Dr. Mike. He is good at what he does, but also knows his limitations. I've seen him send a patient away stating that he could not help him, and that the person needed a surgeon or a neurologist right away. I've seen him meet a new patient "in need" during a holiday or a Sunday just because he was in pain. Even with all of the problems Insurance companies, Workers Comp, etc., gives Chiropractors these days, he always puts patients before money. As much as I love my Florida home, I'll miss him.
Glad to know I'll have someplace to go to once I'm a full time Floridian.

I notice these posts are quite old but the story seems the same today. I posted to see if the DRS protocol as practised by Davis was authentic but have yet to see a positive response ? I did go to his seminar this month, paid $230 for his evaluation and on further followup was provided "my personally profiled" cost, which was $6202. With what little Medicare and my insurance paid and a 5% cash discount my cost would have been $5191. Sorry but I do not pay that sort of money up front with no guarantee !! It seems that this protocol is still deemed experimental by the insurance industry --- the portion they would pick-up would have been for the Spinal Manipulation, isn't that traction?. I also found on-line articles re DRS and similar protocols, some of which have had false advertisement suits filed against them, stating that basic traction therapy was as good even though it itself isn't very good long term. Basically I want out of my spinal stenosis pain, my mobility, at the moment, is fine.
Anyway my take on Davis/DRS is that it is a very slick marketing program not backed up by any longterm success. Of course he is quick to bring on screen, testimonials to his success but -------?
I stil would like to hear of a success story by anyone who has undergone this therapy, with Davis or any other practitioner.

Spinal stenosis pain will probably be with you forever, you just have to figure out what is the best way for you to deal with it.

So glad I read all the comments. I went to Davis Clinic last week. Although we have excellent Blue Cross, I was told it wasn't covered. They also did not accept my x-rays. Same spiel about seeing the financial person and signing up for treatment with a credit card. I called the insurance company, then called Davis Clinic back. Refused to give me any solid clinical data. So, I am out the initial "interview" fee and digital x-rays, BUT thankfully checked on here and am not returning to Davis. Thank you.
