View Full Version : Pelican SHOULD BE CLOSED - greens 7/8/9 are unplayable.

I played Pelican on Sunday - 7 of 9 pins would not set down into the hole completely, as whoever cut the holes did not clean out enough sand/dirt for the pins to set fully - unaccceptable. Heron is closed AGAIN, after a very recent closure. Maybe the group responsible for Pelican/Heron maintenance should be replaced.

It's all part of the rustic charm of those courses. Adds to the challenge as well.😉

Both of these courses are great designs and beautiful. It is such a shame that their maintenance is so poor.

Agreed — someone in our group pulled the pin out to retrieve balls and the whole cup came out of the ground!

The last 3 greens are merely sand without grass. I like them because no one wants to play there and I can get a tee time. :-)

That's free golf in the Villages. Bummer.

Actually had the same thought after playing yesterday. Living in Newell it was too long of a cart ride, for the conditions. Would definitely go back if I hear the conditions have improved.
