Not for the cashless

When I get change from cash not often but sometimes, i look at dates on penny’s not going find and silver coin older than 65. But found 1959 dated penny. That’s long time in circulation. Any date hounds find any older?

Starting around 1950, my mother would go to the bank every year and buy 100 new pennies. I guess she thought they would be worth something some day. But, when she died, I found out that they really weren't worth much more than one cent each. She did have about 50 silver dollars from the early 1920's that were worth about $35 each.

I routinely save the "wheat" pennies. Some are worth a bit more than their face value but not a lot. I did get a couple of 1903 indianhead pennies for change once about 30 years ago.

But I always check. There are still about half a million 1909 SVDB Lincoln Pennies still in circulation and as the price for those starts at about $500...
