If you don't get many responses here, check the Nextdoor app. Lots of personal reviews on doctors (and everything else!) Good luck.

Was seen by Citrus Cardiology last year and was NOT impressed. Saw the Cardiologist for a total of maybe five minutes before my tests and not at all afterwards: the results were explained by someone else: RN I believe, who could not answer a couple of questions that I deemed important.
The tests (CT, EKG) were done with equipment that looked to be very old. The tech who took the tests seemed competent enough but I did NOT appreciate the loud joking around among the staff in the room during the CT scan. Unprofessional.
Finally I had to request that Citrus Cardiology forward my results to my primary physician. Apparently that is not done routinely by them.

Please don't ask for recommendations on TOTV but instead ask your PCP...Primary Care Physician. If they recommend a Specialist it's most likely someone they have a working relationship with, they trust their work, and/or have had personal experiences. Everyone's case is different, every day is different, and every experience is different. Your PCP knows more about you than any of the keyboard warriors on here. Maybe you might have issues that require the care of a certain Specialist that no one on this forum could ever know and send you to the wrong place and waste your time

But, I also like to read DO NOT USE warnings. Yes, it may be a case of "one of." But, I still like the red flag notices. Keeps me on guard when I encounter these professionals.

We live in Marion County. When we moved here, we were told it it is life threatening, get to Gainesville. Our primary care doc referred my wife to a gastro guy in Ocala, who referred us to another specialist in Ocala, who referred us to Dr. Beers with Gastroenterology Associates in Gainesville who referred her to a surgeon next door, Dr. Macedo. If we'd gone to Gainesville to begin with, we'd have saved months.

Tough to get in with her but well worth the wait. She goes out of her way to serve her patients. Even made time for me on a Saturday. Plus she knows her stuff.

Our Gastro Dr. would not come to the hospital when my husband was bleeding internally. The nurse called Dr. Gabriel for us. Dr. Gabriel, whom we never meet, came in immediately and operated on my husband. We both switched to Dr. Gabriel and have gone to him for years since then. Give his office a call.

he is my hubby's doctor, great doctor, and he told him he is retiring next year or year afterCan you elaborate? Or, do we need to keep asking every doctor if they are the great doctor who told Hubby of plans to retire next year or year after?
Don't mean to jest. Simply curious as to which doctor you are referring to. We all speed type sometimes.
