I still remember, after a little over 60 years, seeing a '57 Caddy with a NY plate that showed "4Q2".

I agree! I always thought acronyms were used by America's youth because they are lazy. I guess this page shows it's more that just the young folks.

Reminds me that I'd recently googled "curiosity killed the cat", only to learn that it was originally "care" that was responsible.

This is starting to sound like a thread of acronyms that people use on their auto license plates and hope the Dept. of MV does catch the meaning.

We just had one in NH. A woman had the same License Plate on her car for 15 years and got a letter that it was being revoked and she had to turn in the plate. It got so much press coverage around the country, the Governor of NH stepped in and let her keep her plate.

I guess it's not exactly an "acronym", but same theory.

Her plate was "P B 4 W E G O". Pretty sage advice.

Governor says ‘PB4WEGO’ license plate won’t be recalled after all (https://www.wmur.com/article/new-hampshire-pb4wego-vanity-license-plate-update/28856702)

Isn't the all-time classic......FUBAR

From my interactions with former work peers who were younger and had been in the sandbox as USMC fire squad leaders (we worked for the city immediately adjacent to Camp Pendleton), FUBAR is sort of WWII era, while BOHICA is a much more Desert Storm, Afghanistan-ish term.
