It’s in the area where they park the semi trailers with all the pine straw. It’s the southeast corner of Meggison and Warm Springs.

If you look at the picture you can see 3 semis parked there. These are the ones with Pine Straw. You can also see in the upper right a golf cart tunnel access point that goes under Meggison to the multi model trail on other side of Meggison.

It’s a rehab center with plans for potential additional beds. Rehab is 30 day’s or less insurance coverage. Usually rehab for totals, stroke, and any need for short term treatment. Most rehabs are that size or smaller, since it’s a revolving door facility

The 60 days beyond the first 90 are considered "reserve days", with the patient being responsible for an $816 per-day copay. If inpatient rehab is required even after the 60 day reserve is used up, all costs are the responsibility of the patient.

That would be why 90%plus is out the revolving door at 60 days. Most don’t have $20,000 of disposable income.It’s a very lucrative short stay facility. We have had to use rehab for parents multiple times, most accomplished need, unless patient was non-compliant. Once 60 days is up one can apply for home rehabilitation.

& supplement plan G covers day 61-90, they may also cover 91-150 if needed.

Encompass Heath is the largest rehabilitation hospital owner/operator in the U.S. Asking them to change businesses doesn't seem likely to succeed.

Also, it would be nice to see what the demand for rehab is. I suspect Encompass already knows & there is enough demand to justify the facility.

You do understand why rehab is critical in retirement community. One falls breaks a hip, hospital stay is days. If patients does not have a person to provide care at home, rehab is the best resource. Same with stroke, and other surgeries. Usually spouse is as old as patient, and not able to take care of patient due to size, weight or spouse’s health. Many times the patient is a widower, and rehab is much needed contingency plan until patient able to care for themselves.

Rehab has nothing to do with treatment, outcome, or unforeseen circumstances. It’s about getting a patient back to a quality of life, to return to their home. If rehab doesn’t work because damage is too extensive (such as a stroke) then an alternative living may be their only option, after rehab
