Played Hawks Bay last Thursday and the greens set a new low for playability. We know that most of the executive greens are bad but they are at least a smooth surface in my experience (bits of grass, dirt and sand, squashed down with a steamroller). But this time they were bumpy and just about unplayable. I complained to the Ambassador.

Try Harbor Hills as it is in great shape and have reasonable prices!

It is such a shame for the conditions of lots of executive courses. They are good for the short game practice, but not putting.

Is that an executive course? (Just kidding)

But I wouldn't play HH due to the compressed tee times. The Villages it's 8 minutes. HH is shorter than that.

Anyway I don't have a problem with the Villages regulation courses that I play, as far as greens go.

Great article with one exception: It starts off by stating SW Florida got 1/3 the usual rainfall while the east side got 3x usual. But then it goes on to stating the CC of Naples had standing water that the pro hadn't seen in 16 years. Kind of a contradiction.

I played Hawkes Bay a week ago and wondered how it got so bad in such a short time after it had been closed for a time to bring it up to the standards we want here/. I played Truman this past Sunday and they were pretty bad as well,

Gotta love it. When all else fails, blame the climate.
