Just shopped for new eyewear.did the 4 different chain, plus Sam’s, Costco. Walked out of 3 frames were like cheap reading glasses.

Sams so busy I didn’t really get a chance to speak about how long. Peepers had the best value for frames that looked like might last for more than a week.

In the end, I took my frames from Costco that I love, dropped them off on the way to Disney. $90 for new photo lens (sorry don’t need progressive). Had them fix two other pair while I was there, no charge.

Ready in 3 days, picked up on our way back from Disney. Nice staff variety of frames, and stocked up for company.

I buy all of my prescription eyeglasses from Zenni.com. Not a particularly fast turnaround, but extremely inexpensive compared to stores. You can buy 4 or 5 pairs for the price of one store bought pair.

Second vote for Hindsight, Pinellas Plaza, I have been using them for years, worse case scenario was getting my glasses the next day, I have a complicated prescription.

The original poster should ask if Zenni can do tri-focal, also Zenni is not as quick a turn around as some of the others listed, like Hindsight in Pinellas Plaza.

Just be sure you use the correct terminology. There are trifocals which have 2 lines and there are progressives, also known as no-lines. Trifocals have 3 distinct strengths with intermediate vision in the middle. Progressives have a channel that progressively gets stronger.

Another vote for Hindsight at Pinellas Plaza---2478 Burnsed Blvd. (352-399-5412) My husband and I now buy all of our glasses and frames there. Either bring in your current prescription, or they have a doctor there that can test your eyes. Since they have their own lab there, you can get your glasses in around an hour or so later. Also have one of the biggest selections of frames.

I recently used Buy Prescription Glasses Online from $6 | Eyebuydirect (http://www.eyebuydirect.com) with good results.

Ron at Clear View Optix in Mulberry Grove at Buena Vista and hwy 42 is a skilled optician and provides excellent customer service. His shop has an extensive choice of frames of all kinds and all prices. If you need a new prescription, he has an optometrist who does exams at the store one day a week. If you call in advance, he'll make repairs while you wait. He is very generous with his time.

Where do you go if they need to be adjusted?

Hi Dr, there is a pair of glasses tacked on to the front wall of Sanibel mail station. Hopefully they belong to you.

Peepers at Colony Plaza, where I get my eye exams. But, almost any optician or optometrist store will adjust or repair any eyeglasses for free. I would buy eyeglasses in a store if they didn't charge 5 times as much as Zenni, which also has a better selection, and more information about sizing, weight, etc.

So when I put in spouse script, with zenni using a $49 Frame by the time everything adjusted for script with no rush ship total came to $297.00.

Just dropped off new script at Costco with what we would call a nicer frame, total $167.

Maybe you just need a script without any upgrades to get cheap rate

I never add the upgrades. Most of the glasses I buy from Zenni are less than $25. Why do you need upgrades?

Note that you don't even need a prescription at Zenni. You just copy the information from the prescription onto the Zenni order form. Some eye doctors will write down optional features that you may not need, but you don't have to buy them. For me (and many other people), special coatings and other eyeglass treatments don't do anything to improve the glasses, and some just interfere with your vision.

My wife has been using Zenni for many years and loves there choices and cost savings. I can easily count ten pairs of color choices on her dresser. 👍🏼

Wife needs new glasses and didnt know they didnt need copy of prescription. Now hope that they have the size of the frames she bought some years ago so we do not have to worry about the size.

Once again thanks for your help.
