Happy to hear you are settling in. I recall from your earlier posts that you were somewhat 'stuck' in AZ.

I am still not, as I am still in 'clean up, dispose, pack' mode. But I do look forward to meeting you & many others from this forum & elsewhere soon.

Welcome!!

Almost totally unpacked and went thru the same, donate & pitch process??

Some thoughts:
Neighbors are a great place to start.

Church is another great place.

Village clubs of interest.

Enjoy the journey.

Yes, our house still isn’t sold so we are renting a house here and looking for the neighborhood we want to live in.

Yes, our house still isn’t sold so we are renting a house here and looking for the neighborhood we want to live in.Check out Dabney and Moultrie Creek rec centers. Plenty of newcomers wanting to meet friends and eager to drive and explore the Villages.

Secure an MLS agent. He/she will review the pros and cons of each area. Will also be available if you have questions during your stay.

Make a checklist of your must haves and do not swerve too far from your list. At the top.of our list was a maintenance-free home with a large fenced-in yard. Saw many homes with beautiful views and was often steered away .In the end, we kept to our list and are THRILLED with our new home. We are so glad we did not purchase the homes with breathtaking views. They were beautiful but did not offer much more. Take your time! Find the home you will be happy in for many years.

Welcome and good luck!

What village are you in now? We have been here 2 years in Sunset pointe. Close to Sumter landing and great neighbors. I still work 3 days a week but would love to introduce ourselves.

Hi. I'm so glad you made it to TV. We've been trying to sell our home since October. I feel very much stuck. Really hoping it will sell by Summer so we can move up there. We are in southern Florida at the moment. If we were there, we would definitely take you up on the offer to meet for lunch. Enjoy your new location!!

Our timeline: sold house #1 in 2019; moved to our former rental home; 2022 came on TV visit; closed on new home in TV on July 1; sold 2nd home in 2 days for way over ask; moved to TV in August. Love it here. Things will move quickly. Faith!!

I hate to say this, but some people would be dis-inclined to meet people that need to advertise to meet people. There are TONS of clubs and activities where someone can meet other people.

Same with us! I just got tired of waiting and watching the news sources giving their updates on all the fun activities. I missed the strawberry week but I won’t next year!

Believe me, I was scared and nervous to put myself out there. In the end I thought ‘what the heck’, you never know until you try.

Well, good luck. But, also try the many clubs and activities that the Villages offers. It is all listed in black and white in the weekly recreation guide.
