There are very few good pool maintenance companies out there. If you find one you’re luckier than most. It seems the good ones are owner operators that struck out on their own. Most don’t have the capacity to add any more customers. After going through three pool companies my wife’s husband now takes care of ours.

You got that right, very difficult to find a consistently good company. Any company is only as good as the technician assigned to you. It seems like every time we get a good technician they either leave the company or get reassigned to a different route. It’s yet another casualty of the Village’s growing too fast for the necessary service industry to keep up.

It;s not the company, it’s the tech you get. They need to be knowledgable and dependable.
Find a person that owns their own company. See who neighbors use.

We have been very happy with
T n D VIP....it is not the original
T n D. Not sure if they are still taking new customers. Things like filters and o rings, etc they replace at no charge. Friends and neighbors are also using them now and are all very happy with service and communication.

Ask you neighbors….the small owner/operator companies will take new customers with neighbor referral if they have the time, knowing that they have to be consistent to keep multiple customers. The person that services our pool does 10 out of 50 pools in our neighborhood.

They do a good job. But, they will only do pools built by T & D.

I agree with "ask your neighbors". It's helpful to be on an already established route. We live in the Magnolia Plaza area and have been happy with Pinch a Penny. As others have stated, the good techs turn-over with any company. But Pinch a Penny has been quick to replace them and done a nice job. Our current team has been in place for some time now and is excellent.

Stay away from Patriot Pool Service who bought the service component formerly owned by T&D.

They are very expensive and they refuse to maintain the water level if you are gone for any period of time.

T & D VIP Pool Service
A little pricey however they include a lot of maintenance repairs at no additional cost.
Replace filter once a year no additional cost.

ORCA Pool, #352-552-3696 is excellent. Have been my pool maintenance company for 3 1/2 years and has not only maintenained my pool but address my questions professionally and promptly, as I am a new pool owner. In addition they also respond with what to do if a storm is coming or a holiday that they want their employees to enjoy. Call Michelle!:BigApplause:

I found Gatorland Pool and Spa from this site. Former Patriot Pool person for six years and set off on his own about a year ago. Much cheaper than Patriot from who a new tech showed up about every six months. I live in Hillsborough so don’t know if he would cover your location. Chris Heubee (815) 252-7715.

I use T&D and have for the past 7 years weekly. Their prices have gone up but I think they do a good job. On occasion their weekly tech people have identified problems and repairs that are needed but the costs are generally reasonable and their repair people are good. You have to call them and approve.

It's bizarre but after a rainfall I have worms and sediment at the bottom of the pool. They clean that up and show you before and after pictures of everything they do. And you get a weekly report on the various chemical/salt levels in your pool.

Of course, you need to be sure to keep the water levels up in your pool. That is not their responsibility. I converted my pool to salt and it did take a couple months to get thing stable.
