If you are a Villages resident AND a resident of Wildwood, you need to know what your city has planned for expenditures. The lion’s share is going towards a Wastewater Treatment (WTP) for the non Villages residents. The tune of this expenditure is 144.25 million by 2029. 9.25 million is grant money and the state chips in 2 million. 80 million of this (about 56%) of this is “revenue”, yours and mine for this monster.

Shouldn’t this be born by impact fees? When we bought in the Villages we had a bond that we paid for the Villages WWT plant. Why doesn’t the city go that route with all their new building?

Are there any Villagers on the Wildwood City Commission? Two of the current commissioners will have their terms expire this year.

City Commission | Wildwood Florida (https://www.wildwood-fl.gov/bc-city)

According to Wikipedia, the population was 15,730 in 2020. With the population growth the last few years, I think more than 15,000 Villagers live in Wildwood. Wildwood is the fastest growing city in Florida (with a population of 5,000) by percentages. In 2022, the population was estimated to be more than 24,000.

The city's tax based increased by 46% from 2021-222 to 2022-23.
