Has anyone used their Direct TV box from home in their motorhome/RV?

Or the one from their motorhome at home?

Bogeyboy left on a road trip in a rental car and came home (well I'm not quite back to TV yet) in a motorhome. Now he wants to use that fancy satellite dish that's on the roof.

I used my direct TV in our RV all the time. We would take two receivers from our home and put them in the RV when we traveled. The only problem we had was picking up local chanels unless we were in our viewing area.

Yes there isn't much of a problem using a receiver from the house in your motor home. As mentioned above, once you leave Florida you no longer have local networks. We solved the problem by having two separate accounts with separate receivers, one for the motor home with National Networks (not locals) and one for the house. When we are off traveling out of Florida we put the house on vacation and activate the one in the motor home. We reverse that once we get back to Florida. Works great for us. With the National Networks we get all of the NY Network Stations and all of the LA Network Stations.

It's a wonderful life!

How do you manager to aim the antenna when you park?

Our motorized antenna is mounted on top of the RV and at the push of a switch would search and stop when the satellite is located. Some models will lock in and stay on track while moving. An older model I had, the dish was on a tripod and had to be manually placed and moved to locate the signal. Was a real pain to work with.
