The wind must have turned it-- all you get to see is a strut on the building where its located. Someone should re-aim it.
Still love it all.

How do you open the LSL or Spanish Springs camera? What is the website address and is there a password?
Thanks in advance for your help.

One way to view the cameras is to go to The Villages website (www.thevillages.com) and click on the temperature in the upper right corner. I have the actual sites bookmarked but I am not home right now so I am unable to provide them for you.

NOTE: The links that I had provided for the web cams have been removed due to the hijacking of the links I entered being redirected to a biased political article at Yahoo.

This issue has been around for quite some time. You are not doing anything wrong. Folks simply have to right-click on your links, then select "copy shortcut" into a browser window.
Here is a thread from some time ago that offers a potential technical explanation...

https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26137 Thank you for your explaination, but it has nothing to do with the problem that was occuring, and I know I wasn't doing anything wrong.
What was happening after I entered the links and made the post, the links were not going to the URL entered or returning any TOTV pages. It was redirecting the link I entered to Yahoo.com... and mostly to one of their pages that had an artricle about Sara Palen that I thought was inappropriate since it was not my intention to bring up that article.
BTW, I have the cam links but was tryinng to help the person looking for them because it seems alwful difficult to try and locate the cam address within the pages of thevillages.com. I just tried for over 20 minutes and finally gave up after multiple visits to the same pages! If they're there, it sure as heck ain't easy to find!

Getting redirected to yahoo.com when clicking on a link for thevillages.com or golfthevillages.com is the problem I was trying to explain in that older thread. No hijacking, thevillages.com is sending you to yahoo....sorry if I am still misunderstanding the problem.
Here is the actual code I use when adding a URL to a post that gets redirected:
http://thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_lsl.asp (http://blankrefer.com/?thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_lsl.asp)
Here is the resulting link:
http://thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_lsl.asp (http://blankrefer.com/?thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_lsl.asp)
As far as the cameras, you can access the web cams by clicking on the temperature in the top right hand corner of thevillages.com home page.

Are you saying that thevillages.com has incorporated onto their server programming that will prevent direct links into their site that they don't want, and to get around it you have to make your URL referer.us and then add the villages address as a sub or second level address?
If I got it http://www.aquatropicalfish.com/images/smilies/chicken_dance.gif
If I didn't :sing:
Also, thanks for identifying where the cam links are!

Yes, those sites seem to prevent going directly to a link within there site. I have not really tested if it is just TOTV or they would prevent any site from going to a link directly. I have no explanation of why they want this, but it is what it is....
Most folks on TOTV are aware of this and will copy/paste a link like that. Also, you may not be aware, you can test a link while you are creating a post, hit "preview post", you will see your message with icons, links and you can click on the links to see if they work before you hit "submit reply".
blankrefer.com is a site that for free does several things, one of which spoofing your referal address.
